i think the naslund for stojanov was the worst trade ever. even when the trade was made, stojanov prove to be nothing more then a fighter, he cant play. as bad as naslund was (he wasnt really that bad, just wasnt given much ice time till the season he was traded) at least theres some protential. stojanov have no protential, what you see is what you get, which is a 4th line goon, they are a dime a dozen.

a great trade, got the nordiques/avalanche 2 cups and many division titles.

The best trade in history has got to be the Barry Pederson for Cam Neely and a first (Glen Wesley).

Neely was awesome and Wesley worked out to be 3 first rounders for Boston from Hartford which included Sergei Samsonov, Jonathan Aitken and Kyle McLaren. Aitken wasn't much, but McLaren turned into Jillson who turned into Brad Boyes. And who knows what the Bruins will turn Boyes and Samsonov into?

So for Pederson, the Bruins got ten years or so out of Cam Neely in his prime,7-8 years of Glen Wesley, half a decade out of Kyle McLaren, Sergei Samsonov and prospect Brad Boyes, so it's still giving. Not bad at all.

In any case...I know I am in the vast minority on this...Zednik certainly has more value in a trade.....but IMO Zubrus is a better all around player that can still improve....what the most laughable thing is someone thinking this is some huge lopsided trade....the best trade ever for a team (the Habs no less).....Zubrus is a good player....a member of the Russian World Cup team.....this is hardly the lopsided trade the knucklehead who started this thread thinks it is......regardless of who you think is the better player
It's probably the best trade the habs have made in the new decade (2000's). Washington went in to free fall after the trade, and we turned from being bottom feeders to middle of the pack. Zubrus is still showing the same game as he did in Montreal, which is full of potential, but no results. As few hab fans posted, Zednik turned in to our biggest clutch goalscorer, and not only that, we got Bulis who is the best forechecker on the team... And the first rounder turned out to be Perezhogin, who is bound to make an impact, and possibly be the best player out of the whole deal... Maybe the thread starter figured the best trade in the past 5-10 years, and in that case this trade tops the cake in terms of habs deals in the past 10 years or so.

Zubrus potentially could be the best player out of this deal, but to date... he still has yet to give any of his potential on the ice. Whereas Bulis and Zednik helped the habs beat the Bruins twice in the play-offs (Zednik was on a tear in the first series win before getting half his face ripped off by McLaren). As another poster mentioned, Zednik is also the best clutch player out of the deal. He simply helps our offence out. Ultimately, the habs got a first liner, a third liner that can cover on the top 2 lines, and a blue chip prospect for the underachieving, top 6 Zubrus, a Linden that was useless in both cities, and a second. Granted Linden got the Caps Gordon... But that's not part of this deal.

Well, I traded my balls & cash for my wife, but my balls were returned for future considerations. I have yet to see the cash come back my way, as the wife is hemorraghing money.

EDIT: Sorry, THIS THREAD + BEER = BAD HUMOR
