Mike Cammaleri. Most underrated forward in the NHL imo.

Definitely worth a vote, he is rarely talked about and quietly put up 50+ points while being a two-way force.

frans nielsen, imo hes kinda like a poor man's datsyuk, both are 5 11, under 200 pounds, excel in the defensive/transition parts of the game, fast, agile skaters and show tons of skill in the defensive zone and rarely get many penalties, datsyuk is just better at each of those things, they just play alot alike imo

Im going to say Jason Pominville. Quietly puts up 60+ points every year. Solid in the playoffs. Was an Iron Man before the cheapshot against Chicago. Two Way player. Plays PP and PK and has decent size at 6'1.

Yes he is overpaid at 5.3 mil a year, but if he was being paid 4.5 a year he would be a steal.

He is a top 15 RW, but to most he is thought of a second line player.

Since everyone else is just naming players on their own team, Ill say Martin Hanzal.

In the trade board everyone makes proposals for Hanzal and they send the Coyotes a sack of crap. Without him, the Coyotes would not have made the playoffs the past 2 years.

For the Ducks I'm going to say Saku Koivu. Puts up a respectable 45-50 points and is the best defensive player on the team, but gets overlooked due to the big 3 + Selanne.

Around the league Id say Joe Pavelski, Andy McDonald and Patrik Elias. Seriously, who knew that Elias put up 60 last year? Especially on the worst offensive team in the NHL.

Lars Eller, Cody Hogson, Kyle Turris, Josh Bailey, Nikita Fitalov

Under 22yo player not putting big number but playing in the league are often underrated.

Grabovski was underrated 1 or 2 years ago, now he is not. Its probable that Grabovski just had his best career year, and will regress in the future.

Just a funny note: in 2008, in a similar thread, someone was pointing out Chris Higgins (while he had his best career year) was the most underrated forward in the league. ha ha ha!

Kulemin is still underrated, considering HF thinks Chris Stewart is ninety percent better than him.

Kulemin may be underrated by other fans of the NHL, but defiently not by leaf fans.

I have seen fans claim he will be a 40-40 player.

Kulemin is overrated by leafers by a lot, which cancels out any underrating by other fans and makes him on the level.

I think as the above poster mentioned, Jussi Jokinen is a good pick for this, as is Rich Peverly.

Kulemin is basically a lock to be a 40/40 player. How is he overrated by Leafs fans? And if he is, why did he lose that poll so convincingly?

I think Nick Foligno's underrated. He doesn't really do anything exceptionally but he isn't bad in any aspect either. He started playing more like a power forward towards the end of the season when his confidence and ice time increased. He was driving the net hard with or without the puck and laying the body. I have a feeling he's going to have a 45 point season this year.

I like this logic.

Does this mean Leaf fans can safely predict the Leafs will win the cup every year based on how much the other fanbases like to troll them with the ever so original "LEAFS MADE A TRADE? PLAN THE PARADE LOL!"and speculate on lottery finishes?
