I won't put the top five's in order but rather thinking of that these men will be in the top 5.

Top-5 scorers:

Ilari Filppula, Jokerit
Eric Perrin, JYP
Jarkko Ruutu, HIFK
Ville Peltonen, HIFK
Jani Tuppurainen, JYP

Top-5 goalscorers:

Janne Lahti, Jokerit
Joel Armia, Ässät
Ville Peltonen, HIFK
Eric Perrin, JYP
Jani Tuppurainen, JYP

Top-5 goaltenders:

Niko Hovinen, Pelicans
Joni Myllykoski, JYP
Mika Noronen, Lukko
Vesa Toskala, Ilves
Marek Schwarz, TPS

Top-5 defenders:

Sami Vatanen, JYP
Ossi Väänänen, Jokerit
Mathias Porseland, HPK
Matt Generous, Lukko
Richard Lintner, SaiPa

Best rookie:

Tommi Taimi, Ässät

Best freshman:

Joonas Donskoi, Kärpät

Best enforcer:
Jonne Virtanen, JYP. (I seriously doubt that J. Ruutu plays the role of enforcer this year. I think he will be in the top two lines scoring points.)

Breakout player:
Ossi Louhivaara, JYP. He has been bubbling under enough. Time to break out.

Jarkko Ruutu wont be in top 5 scoring, no way. Coming from ducks fan who watched him closely last season

Can put up some more points in Finland because role might be slightly less braking the play style and might get a bit more minutes than in ducks. But top 5 in league is nowhere near i'd say

Other bets:

Donskoi's gonna be higher in scoring than Armia. Junttila might get to play more this year. Kapanen and Hentunen find the fire mid season.

7. Kalpa

I know. I just had to rub HIFK fans noses in it just a little bit.

Let's say the standings I predicted would be the actual regular season standings and do a little play off predictions as well. Remember, you can correct me if I'm wrong about the rules...

So, the premilinary round (which is stupid btw) is like this:

Kärpät - Tappara -> Tappara
TPS - Ässät -> TPS

Then the actual play offs starts as follows...

JYP - Tappara -> JYP
Jokerit - TPS -> Jokerit
HIFK - Lukko -> HIFK
Pelicans - KalPa -> Pelicans

Then the semifinals would be...

JYP - Pelicans -> JYP
Jokerit - HIFK -> HIFK

Then the bronze game would be Jokerit - Pelicans -> Jokerit
The final series is JYP - HIFK -> JYP

And thus...
1. JYP
2. HIFK
3. Jokerit

I'm too tired to do this but please tell me if there's an error there.

Final series's gonna be played between Ässät and Kalpa btw.

Jokerit and HIFK failing in the playoffs =)

Player goal leaders:
1. Teemu Pulkkinen
3. Ville Peltonen
4. Joel Armia
2. Jukka Hentunen (been surfing pre-season but finds luck and fire soon )
5. Why everyone put eric perrin here? Last two seasons 7 goals in 77 and 55 games... I know he comes from KHL but doesnt sound like a goal scoring top 5 man. Maybe he finds the fire then like Hentunen's gonna do? Execpt Hentunen actually won scoring title in pro league 2 years ago, last time perrin put goal scorers numbers up was 1996-97 season in ECAC

18 goals and 32 assists in 50 game last season in JYP.

JYP will be playing a more aggressive style and I wanted to throw some name out there. Pretty unlikely still I guess and Antti Pihlström would have been a wiser guess probably.

Not to brag, but after tonight's game the SM-liiga stats look very much alike my predictions. Only Smolenak has taken Armia's place.

13. Saipa
14. Tappara
Either than KalPa (1st), Jokerit (6th), JYP (4th) and Ilves (14th)... not bad.

Quote:
Top-5 scorers (random order):

Ilari Filppula, Jokeri
Eric Perrin, JYP
Jesse Niinimäki, Ilves
Ville Peltonen, HIFK
Mikael Granlund, HIFK
Eric Perrin right, MG 6th and Peltonen 9th... pretty bad.

Top-5 goalscorers (random order):

Janne Lahti, Jokerit
Tomas Zaborsky, Ässät *knock on wood*
Joel Armia, Ässät *knock on wood*
Ville Peltonen, HIFK
Eric Perrin, JYP
Zaborsky and Peltonen right. Armia, Lahti and Perrin 14.-16.... could be worse

Top-5 goaltenders (random order):

Niko Hovinen, Pelicans
Ari Ahonen, Kalpa
Mika Noronen, Lukko
Ville Hostikka, Kärpät
Jere Myllyniemi, JYP
I think I meant Riku Helenius from JYP, but either than that and Ahonen's good early season before KHL... pretty bad.

Top-5 defenders (random order):

Sami Vatanen, JYP
Ossi Väänänen, Jokerit
Ville Uusitalo, Ässät *knock on wood*
Jeremy Dehrer, Jokerit
Richard Lintner, Saipa
Sami Vatanen right, Uusitalo based on points (actually had a bad season compared to last)... not that good.

Best rookie:

Tommi Taimi, Ässät *knock on wood*
Not going to win, but 53 games with 3 goals and 12 assists with a +22 rating is good.

Best freshman:

Marek Schwarz, TPS
lol wut?

Quote:
Best enforcer:

Jonne Virtanen, JYP
I'd guess that is a negative.

Breakout player:

I faired rather well with the standings:

The bottom 4 teams all correct.

"Pity-Playoff" teams correct other than got Pelicans in them.

^^^^^ Same, but Lukko finished in the pity playoffs.

But other than that:

Point leaders.... ehhhh.... **** them.

Goal scorers.... well... I got Zaborsky correct (wuuhuu?)

MVP Defenceman: Got Vatanen right

Everything else:
