It sounds like he already decided to play in Europe this season.

Yeah it definitely sounds that way- I was just curious where in Europe. Would the SEL or SM-Liiga make sense for him?

As others have noted, sounds like he's made the decision to stay closer to home...as to finding a club, the issue is the timing and finding an opening. Before he was drafted, the information out there was that he was talking to a team in Sweden, but now the situation is different in terms of team needs.

(Also, Swift Current has to release him to play overseas, but I'd be surprised if that became an issue.)

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if you would be willing to help me out. I've just recently launched a new website www.1stopfantasyhockey.com and a small section of the site is devoted to constantly updated depth charts.
I've done my best trying to comb through hfboards and other sites to rank all of the Capitals players, but there is no better community on the Internet that would know more about where these players should 'land'. And I know you'd do a far better job than I will ever be able to.

Here is the page:
http://www.1stopfantasyhockey.com/te...id=Wsh&type=dc

I've made it interactive (yet random) where a simple click on a button will gradually start to move players up and down the depth chart. The more people that rank the players, hopefully the more accurate the depth chart.

I apologize if you see this as flaming, and I wasn't sure the best place to post for help.

Thanks to all of you that drop by.
If you like the other features on the site, feel free to register.

Hmmm. It seems like a fair number of guys come up who have been sent to juniors. Or, guys on the same line/pairing will come up together (Carlson and Alzner came up together, for example).

The biggest thing for the caps is that they can afford the luxury of having their prospects develop in junior and AHL while other teams have to bring them up a lot faster.

These players represent all of the players whose rights are currently owned by the Caps. So don't just think of the main roster.

And in terms of thinking about pairings, think about which D-man is 'better' in your eyes than the other. (If you had to keep only one, who would you keep?)

Kuznetsov not sounding very keen on the idea of leaving home. Ouch:

Alexey Shvetsov: We hear you have definitely decided that this will be your last season in Russia. Is this correct?
Evgeny Kuznetsov: It’s a difficult question. For now, I don’t want to go anywhere. It will all depend on how I play this season. Of course, if I am offered a contract by Washington, I will have to think about it. But personally, I would like to play more in my home town, where everybody knows me and likes me. The club’s management met all of the conditions during summer, so now I just need to play well. Which is what I am working on.
Alexey Shvetsov: Do you see yourself on any other KHL club?
Evgeny Kuznetsov: No, I will not move to any other Russian club from Traktor. At least that’s what I think right now. I grew up in Chelyabinsk and owe everything to the club.

Meh, we'll see when the season is over. No use worrying about it until that point is reached.

Kuz has has more often emplied that he'll come over. Not worried that he won't come over.

With his ability, there's no way he's staying. he just has zero desire to be in the AHL.

I think he could be real good. He's too good for the KHL as it stands.

Kuznetsov with an insurance goal (once again the eventual GWG) in a 4-3 win.

Seems like every day there's a new post about Kuznetsov scoring a GWG.

5 Goals (3 GWGs) and no assists and +1. I believe he's had a shootout winner in there also. Needs to pick it up in the assist department but considering he's still not fully recovered from the shoulder stuff a nice start. One thing about seeing the highlights is the kid loves hockey...reminds me of AO.

Awesome feed from Kuznetsov starting around 2:49. (Jan Bulis picks up the secondary)

Nineteen-year-old winger Stanislav Galiev will miss both games this weekend with an upper-body injury. The club will know more upon further evaluation.
With the exception of UNH, each of the NCAA teams featuring Caps prospects kick off their seasons tonight. UNH plays BU tomorrow night.

Based on his comments to Malamud on twitter, sounds like the injury happened while he was still with the Caps in camp, broken arm? broken wrist? Question is does this hurt his chances of making the WJC team?
