Sam Carrier update: 3G/10A/13Pts/9PIMs/+6 in 10 games played for Baie-Comeau; he's in the top 10 in Q dmen scoring with fewest games played among that group; Baie-Comeau has 10W/4L so far this season and play today.

Injury news: now 2 Caps prospects on the sidelines - Galiev out and now Patrick Wey.

"Patrick Wey was cut with a skate blade and severed a tendon in his foot, expected to be out at least 6-8 weeks."

Kuznetsov was named to Russia's preliminary EHT roster.

Was glad to read the Carrier Q Super Series news; expected given his season to date, but never know with these rosters.

i was suprised to read what he said

some raw translation: "The game is better on bigger (olympic) ice.Game is slower, but there's more space.Indeed there are less shots on goal than in NHL rinks, but we're not used to that kind of hockey here in Russia, like they're not used to our style and rink.We (in Russia) even think that the game on NHL sized rinks is a bit stupid" - lol, i thought he prefers small rinks before i've read it.

next about his team Traktor of KHL:

that's true, i can't imagine he's being sent to minors.

wow he's such a homer.he seems to be realy proud of his birthplace and his home club.

also what's worry me his club Traktor is becoming like super power in KHL, the governor of the region is giving full support to the team from this season.their goal is Gagarin Cup and the club now is very stable and rich, they can try to stop Kuznetsov from moving to NHL at all.

my worrys are:

1)home city he's having very tight roots with
2)big, stable club which is becoming a powerhouse in KHL
3)he's given a lot of ice time and top minutes with fine line partners
4)he married in summer, the girl is local and the ceremony was held in Traktor Ice-Arena
5) he's realy KHL's own Stamkos here.in other words he's HUGE star, and is growing more bigger.

i would like to see him in NHL, but now i'm a bit worried.

That's not news I want to hear. I think his uncertainty will lead to a new Semin contract this winter. I couldn't imagine us letting Sasha walk and Kuz staying put. We would be hurting.

I'm just wondering if he's willing to come over to the Caps on a rookie contract as opposed to making a butt load of money in KHL. He's making serious dough right now and once his current contract is up, Traktor will offer him well over 850k tax free.

I'm going to cling to this interview like it's a life-line. I know that the kid is still young, and I'm sure that his feelings on the matter have oscillated over time, but I still believe that he intends to come over next season. If he doesn't, I won't hold a grudge. It's his prerogative, and he has to do what he feels is best for his career, family and legacy as a hockey player.

I don't know. 850k taxable over 5-6 mil tax free does seem like a significant cut. Not to mention his agent's income. He doesnt need NHL. He's already on the Russian national team. Guaranteed ice time with Traktor or any other wealthy KHL club. He got a free appartment from the governor of Chelyabinsk for winning a gold medal in last year's WJC. Why start over in a foreign country? Getting paid dog *****, gotta buy a new crib, ice time not guaranteed, drag his new wife away from the family to a foreign country. It's not like Ovechkin will be running errands for him. If I were his agent, I'd be advising him to stay home and keep doing his thing. If anything, I'd be looking for a way to dodge the rookie contract and get paid Semin's money right away.

I'm not concerned. If the Caps want him, and want him to be in the NHL, he will be here.

If they want him to sit in Hershey for a season, he's not coming.

Considering how well he's playing in a mens league plus 'hopefully' having a healthy off season of training I hazard to guess he'll be slotted for a top 6 RW considering one or even both Semin/Knuble might be gone.

Not so sure he'd start on top two lines if semin is around. Perhaps on the 4th line with mp in a limited role during ES and some pp opportunities. Perhaps some second line fillin during sob time.
