I'm downloading it to see if indeed the physics are better, if not and most of it is still the same (as many here have alluded to) I won't spend my money on this garbage. They've barely touched BAGM mode, and that's the other key for me to not buy it. Good job EA!
A decision I cannot understand is sound effects during replays. Since they already slow down and speed up the action so damn much during replays, you'd think you were watching 300, but the sounds effects don't take that into account, and are always played at the same speed.
I was also disconnected from the EA server during my very first period of play.
Goals also don't feel properly celebrated. Instead of keeping the camera on the guy who just scored, even if in a cut scene, they show the goalie looking all depressed.
I can't ####ing stand the AI. Once they get the puck and begin their breakout it's impossible to get the puck back. Even when you anticipate their moves they make a blind D to D pass behind the back or some other trick up their sleeve. Game is great playing someone but awful against the CPU.
the hitting was crazy in last years demo aswell, its adjusted to show off stuff like that, for the actual game, everything will be tuned down
He said the hitting was ridiculous. Not as in ridiculously amazing but ridiculously bad. Its more animations that physics.

Except demos are supposed to make somebody want to buy the product.

2007 was one of the best improvements in EA's history in a sports game IMO.
2008 was a leap forward from 07
2009 again was another huge step in the right direction for EA hockey and it marked the completion of the 3 year plan to drastically improve the game
2010 offered a little less of an improvement for me
2011 again wasn't a huge leap by any means but RFA/UFA was big
2012 seems to be a bit of a flop year for sure. The hitting doesn't seem all it was cracked up to be and goalie fights/contact is a really minor deal in the grand scheme of things. When your next biggest feature after this is "a completely revamped 'SIM engine'" I just find it hard to get excited about it.
To me it's like this. In 2007 the game changed entirely and felt MILES more like hockey than 2006. The game has improved since but still has that same feel which over a 5 year period has seemed to become less and less like hockey and more like an arcade (even though it of course has gotten better). It's time for EA to take another leap next year.

Of course it is all positive feedback, anything slightly negative is hidden by the moderators.

It's a very simple thing. If you do not like it, do not play it.
I don't understand how people aren't getting it. I could care less if it's the only hockey game out there.
So not only are people not allowed to complain, but people aren't allowed to play it either if they think they might not like it?
-The skating engine feels like it caught a cold from the sickly 2k10 skating engine. You seem to always be turning your player around when you take control of him.
The AI is dumber. I've had this play happen more than once, where the AI will go directly at the puck even though its going too fast and I get a breakaway.
-Don't like the presentation changes. I had a giant cluster**** in front of the goal and scored only to see the goalie by himself within two seconds.
-The sound additions to the replays I do remind me of watching the Finals on TV but I don't think it was the best idea.
-The crowd reacts to the replays, works until there is a replay of the other team doing something good. The home rink wouldn't show their star player getting leveled.
-Anticipation AI and the goalie interactions seem like they are going to cause more problems than good. As I figured.
What uniforms are people getting in HUT? I got Boston's home and Vancouver's away first time. Is that it?
I like it. It feels different in the beginning but I like the fact that you can't use that same forehand-backhand move to get around the computer now. They force you to the outside so it becomes harder to glitch and forces you to score goals like you would in real life. Crash the net, fight for position and tap in a rebound or just snipe it in.
