NHL12 (and 11): is the shooting power accurate?

During the skills competetion Chara shot 105.9 mph.

In the game the players don't get up to those speeds unless you increase shooting power in game settings. So it got me thinking...

During the skills competition the players are allowed to approach the puck with speed. In practice mode in NHL12 you're standing still.

So, is the shooting power more accurate if I increase it in settings. Or should I let it be the way it is?

About how hard do you think Chara could rip it in the skills competetion if he had to be still like in NHL12 practice mode?

The type of blade you have on your stick depends on how powerful your shot is, you can change it in My Pro.

Also in NHL 12 you will be allowed to hold the slap shot while coming up to the puck as it is no longer stuck to your player.
