I've talked a lot with him over the years. Outside the rock, in bars, etc. He's a very genuine guy and you can see how much he likes playing for the devils. I believe him and I think he'll sign long-term. No doubt in my mind.

When he signs long-term (I'm going to pretend that it's a certainty), I think his playoff beard will be epic later in his career.

It's not that unusual in professional settings. Or it wasn't in the past.

Steinbrenner incorporated that when he bought the Yankees, not sure when it was inplicated with the Devils, but I don't mind it

Seems a little antequated, but I've never heard any of the players complain about it. They all seem to grow beards as soon as they leave the Devils though, that's pretty funny.

.... please dont get me wrong, im not a fan of either of the teams.......i hate the yanks and am indifferent to the red sox... but this is one example of a high profile hair event i guess.
