How hard would Chara shoot if...

During the skills competition Chara shot 105.9 mph. However, during the skills competetion the players are allowed to approach the puck with speed.

1. How about during a game? I guess some one timers gets up to those speeds and even beyond, but lets say Chara gets the puck on the blue line on the PP. If he basically stands still, winds up and shoots, about how many mph is the puck likely to go?

2. How fast does a weak slap shot go?

3. How fast does a hard wrist shot go?

4. How fast does a weak wrist shot go?

A lot of one timers if the pass is hard enough and the player connects with it perfectly with all his might, then they will be faster than the ones in a skills competition.

As others have stated, it always seems to me that a good one-timer is my hardest shot, faster than a normal slapper. The mechanics of the slapper don't work too well with speed, but if you take just one stride into it I'd think guys would be shooting a bit slower, but not way slower . . . maybe take off around 10-15 mph?

As for wrister speed, I've heard a good, hard NHL wrister/snapper is in the 80 mph range.

Your "weak" slap/wrist shot question is pretty ambiguous, because that's obviously gonna be a huge range. If you wanna see a range of guys with hard to poor slappers, check out this video:

Kane shoots the worst shot at 84.8 mph, Stamkos and Kessel both get above 104 mph.

Obviously even a flub is gonna be faster than a skater, and top NHL skaters can get up to roughly 30 mph at top speed. I would think even a really weak, off balanced, poorly executed NHL shot would still generally be going around 50-60 mph or so.

A better quality video would be nice. You can hear when his stick hits the ice and then the post. I watched the video several times because it just didn't seem to add up. I'm sure Ovi can break 100mph though.

Yea I think the audio was edited to make it seem faster, the ping sounds like the exact moment his stick touches the puck.
