safest head coach job in the league?

Whe I think of Stable head coaching jobs I think Lindy ruff I was wondering if anyone else agreed that he would be the least likely coach fired or if they have another coach n mind.

My second would have to be dan Bylsma

Right now it's gotta be Claude Julien, no?

You'd think that he bought himself at least 3 years of complete job security with a Cup win.

Ron Wilson, he will serve as the Leafs coach even after he dies.

Paul Maurice. Even if JR fires him, we'll just rehire him in two/three years.

Yep, he'll keep that job for as long as he wants it unless they start spending to the cap. If they do that, then expectations will be raised quite a bit. For now, they have to love how they've done given their budget, division and conference.

My vote goes to Babcock, Trotz has been there since the Predators inception, so I feel that with two basement seasons (after the decent sucess the Predators have had) he could feel the heat because of his long shelf life.

Babcock on the other hand, I feel could have a couple of basement dwelling seasons (assuming the roster is decimated by injuries) and not have a worry.

There should be no way that Noel doesn't get a full season with the team

I'd probably say Julien. Before Boston won the Cup fans wanted him gone after every shift but he's easily got himself another 3-4 years.

Though Trotz/Ruff is much more secure overall. I think both coaches will quit on their own when the time comes.

Tortorella is pretty safe, if for no other reason than (1) finding a replacement would require Sather having to do work, and thats not going to happen and (2) Dolan does not give a crap.

Not a horrible list by any means. I think Tom Renney should be higher on the "safe" side of things. He isn't expected to win games, he is expected to keep most games close while developing the youngsters.

The shot at MacLean doesn't bother me in the least- but how do you have Wilson as 2nd most likely? Have you seen the bullets he's already dodged- or rather that Burkie's thrown himself in front of?

Nice try.

Only thing that could knock Vigneault out would be to miss the playoffs. And even then, he'd probably get a pass.
