Just curious. Seems that most people think he will be the first D taken .
He and Dumba are pretty close IMHO.

He and Dumba are about par. I like Dumba a lot more though, I think he plays a good OFD but doesn't shy away from playing defense or taking a penalty.
I was also going by the team need, this is a mock not a player ranking.
I would rank Murray probably after the 3(technically 2) Russian players if we were going by best player.
However Mathew Dumba is what NYI would need considering they have Mayfield, etc. in the system.

Was on the ice with Sutter today and he is not a small dude. Powerful skater, strong on the puck and better hands and shot than you may think. Would be a solid pick if the avs could get him.

Yes. There was some ice open so we got a group of guys at ACT and Sutters billet was there and brought Lukas along. He probably wanted some ice time before the combine.

I have the Avs taking Pelech and Vail.
Adam Pelech , LH Defense, Erie Otters (OHL)
6'02" 210 lbs, August 16, 1994 #27
2011-12 Statistics: 2+18=20 in 44, 52 PIM, -20 (his team was God awful)
*Representing Canada as Assistant Captain in the WJC 18
Extremely strong, smart (OHL Academic player mention), and big stay-at-home defender. Great positioning and knows how to manhandle players well. Not dumb offensively and shows good linear speed. Great passing, decent shot (but will never be a PP guy).
Brady Vail , LH Center (will become a winger at the NHL level), Windsor Spitfires (OHL)
6'01" 190 lbs, March 11, 1994 #97 (HE IS AMERICAN, I MADE AN ERROR IN MY SPREADSHEET)
2011-12 Statistics: 22+30=52 in 68 games
Big, hardworking forward with a responsible game. Noted for his work ethic and skill set. Has an NHL-level frame and will fill out to probably 215 lbs. Not tremendously explosive in offensive production but is counted on for generating chances.

Why is there 61 picks in the first two rounds this year?
EDIT: Stupid me, why do I ask if I know the answer?

Ok cool. He was at CUC in the gym all morning too. Has been a lot in fact.

I really hope we target Adam Pelech, Nicolas Kerdiles, Tim Bozon, or Dalton Thrower.

Could you tell me a little more about these players you've mentioned?

Will Thrower and Bozon even make it to our pick? I hope so.

Thrower will be gone at least 10-15 picks before we're on the clock.
I want Sutter in our system.

Sutter is good but I think we could get a more high-reward player with our picks... Kerdiles or Nieves is someone I would love to see targeted.

I'd take him with Boston's pick if he's still around.

If Tanner Pearson is still there when we pick, I really hope we take him. Pearson and Thrower would be absolutly amazing, but I highly doubt either of them are still there when we have our 2nd pick.

We have plenty of role players as it is... And I think Sutter caps out at that... I'd like to snag our "Saad" or someone who is a boom-or-bust pick...
We really lack talent especially on wing in our system.

Does anybody know when Washington has to decide if they take the Avs pick this year? (2nd round pick just to clarify)
