Kind of weird how it works. If he does fall to the 2nd round he'll be a very early pick and I want the Avs to grab him, but if that's the case that we are a early 2nd round pick then our 1st would be early as well. Well we can always trade.
Also thanks for the info RS. Thrower would be kind of like a Trevor Dailey/Ryan Wilson type of player with better offensive capabilities?
There's a few guys am looking at in the 2nd round,
1. Matthew Campagna
2. Luca Ciampini
3. Taylor Burke
4. Dalton Thrower
5. Tom Wilson
6. Ryan Olsen
7. Troy Bourke
8. Jesse Graham
9. James Melindy
10. Brady Vail
One guy am looking at that will go around the top 60, is Jarrod Maidens. Played behind Joey Hishon and is a speedy playmaker that has 2nd line potential centre.
Mocks are great. But i think your pick will be a lot better before the season is over. Last night you got to see what a over worked Varly looks like. Remember he has not played over 35 games in years. Its so hard with him being so good when he is on. You don't want to rest him. But at the rate he is going he will be on the DL in no time. You have him on pace for 60 games. And that is without the playoffs. The 35 game season was with the playoffs.

How would you know what an "over worked" Varly looks like? You said yourself (in two threads) that he has never played over 35 games. Maybe he just had a bad game.....

That is a really good point. There was not much else any of use could use to explain games like his last one. And the break downs that followed. Its hard to hate on Varly. Even if the Caps doget your first round pick.
I'm not saying Ciampini is a bad player, if he is at our pick that is an amazing pick up. Just find it odd all the hype. Reminds me of Jard Knight and Shane Price last draft.

This is really a great draft, very deep in the 1st two rounds so we're going to get some solid players if Caps decide to go with our 2013. (which I hope) But I think some of the mid and later tier 1st round prospects are a big step below the top 3-5. Though I'm starting to believe that 2013 will be better than 2012--which I consider to be a bit below 2008.
2nd - Raphael Bussieres, LW [Solid offensive player with good fighting skillz.]
2nd - Jarrod Maidens, LW [Small, but has great offensive talent.]
3rd - Troy Bourke, LW [Another small greatly talented offensive player with a solid defensive game.]
5th - Myles Bell, D [Great offensive defenseman. Should've been a 1st round last year, but was in a terrible accident.]
6th - Quentin Shore, C [Yes the 2nd to last Shore brother I believe, I think he's the least talented of the other two.]
7th - Felix Girard, C [A grinder with a ton of heart.]
That seems like a solid draft, but I doubt we would take that many left wingers.
Ugh. Good thing for him looks mean nothing. Just...terrible.
As you say, looks mean nothing, but honestly what's so awful about his anyway? Is curly hair that offensive to people? Good thing I keep mine short I suppose...
As long as the pick isnt Top 5 I dont mind the trade. It sounds like the Top 5 Guys are a couple levels above the rest this year, but then from like 6-60 theyre all alot closer then in most years, so Im fine with us having two 2nds this draft, we should be able to get a very good player out of this draft, nad I have all the trust in the world for our Scouting Staff, they always seem to find great players in the 2-6 rounds!

Don't know where you got your info but this is one of the deepest draft since '03.
2013 is looking much better. 2012 will be the best since 2008, but 2013 is looking like 2003.
So....you're saying that the Avs are in a good position because they still have their 2013?
I mean if you think about it and use your analysis, the Avs didn't have a 2008 1st rounder, so they never had a chance to know how good that draft is. Now they don't have a 2012 1st rounder, and if that draft is like the 08, then it's only fitting that they don't have a chance to know how good that draft is.

I didnt say it was deep, find in my post were I said it wasnt deep, if anything I said it was Deeper then most drafts....
I said the Top 5 are a couple levels above the rest, that in no way means the rest are poor players or anything, it means the Top 5 are exceptional players.
I've always been a fan of 2013 since the beginning of last year. So I hope a few of you know am not basing my judgment due to the lack of our 1st in '12. 2012 is going to be a very good draft, no doubt about that. We're going to get one/two really good players in the 2nd round.

Is Mackinnon still projected as the #1 guy in that draft or has he lost his position to someone else? If so please tell.

I know your not basing on the fact that the avs don't have a first rounder. Usually this is how it works in the hockey world the next draft is always deeper and will be compared to the 03 draft. Some experts already got off the 2012 draft bandwagon and expecting more will soon. It's why I laugh when I see posts OMG the avs gave away 2 picks basically 2 first rounders ZOMG.
