Bozak is another in a long line of free agents players who have a good last year in college and do nothing in the league. If he had anything we would know it by now. Turris still has a shot of being a decent player so this is a no go trade.

Top PK minutes, one of the better F/O% in the NHL, while on a middling FO team. Extremely disciplined having only 20PIM in 120gp. Already a career .50ppg in the NHL, and likely only to improve from there. His PP goals and points would've put him behind only Whitney, Doan, and Vrbata among our forwards last season. Guy just turned twenty five and seems to have a lot going for him after just a season and a half in the nhl. A little more consistency five on five(what better team than us to find that) and he could be a 50pt center effective on both specialty teams.

The 50pt center may be the most underrated player in the NHL. According to NHL.com, there has been an average of only 25 centers scoring at least 60pts in each season since the lock out. Less than one per team. Of those, how many can also help a pk? How many have 55% in the dot? A guy like Bozak has a reasonable chance of being an extremely effective, underrated, and there fore underpaid(no small detail) NHL center, even if he only ends up a 45-50pt type.

If it was Bozak and Colbourne I could live with that as Colbourne is a higher ceiling type of center prosprect that is missing in this organization. If it was Bozak and pretty much anybody else on your list I would be pissed off.

Not even Ross or Ryan, eh? Ross is still nineteen. I guess a point agamr isn't that great on that Portland team. Dude was probably behind Nino, RyJo, Bartchi, Rattle, etc. in scoring.

That's correct. 2-way deal only means the player is paid different salaries for playing in the NHL vs. playing in the AHL. It has no impact on whether waivers are required or not--that goes by the original signing age of the player and how many seasons have passed since then.

I'll see if I still have my waiver status spreadsheet to update for this season.

Tippet said OEL has been the second best d man (yandle) in camp and is willing to bet he will be the break out player of the year for the coyotes.

I like the idea of trading Turris to Toronto. He'll never even sniff the playoffs there. It's a great city to live in and he will have long off seasons to explore.

I'm waiting to see how he handles play away from the puck in a regular season game. THAT will be the indicator on how he has progressed. Ever since I first saw him on the ice at rookie camp a few years back, he had the tools just not the NHL smarts.

With all the waivers today, do we claim anyone?

I was looking over the list and didn't see anyone that could really help the Coyotes or make the team better.

dont think the Coyotes will claim ma player this year. They have enough depth and enought players that have to cleared waivers to be sent down already.

From Rich Nairn's twitter:
#Coyotes assign Goaltender J. Pogge and Dmen D. Arsene and T. Eckford to Portland (AHL). Dman B. Gormley returned to Moncton (QMJHL).

Gormely to Moncton this early is a bit of a shock. He was expected to flirt with that 7th spot and likely garner a 9 game NHL stint before being sent down. It's good for Team Canada and the World Junior team though.

Surprised at the early cut of Gormley. I figured they'd keep him around ALAP.

I'm not surprised he was cut, but I'm surprised it was this early.

Either they have their spots, or are no longer in the running for one. It really will be interesting to see who does make the team.
