a reason that semin might fit with nashville is their lack of quick strike skill to save them when in trouble. semin can create a goal all by himself in a blinks of an eye. nobody saw that ot winner v the rangers coming. if you looked at the clock, you missed it.

but the reason to trade suter is his contract status which is the same for semin and really doesnt advance their cause much.

I secretly wish we'd put in a claim on Tikhonov.

Hey guys. Is there a radio app that I can download for my iPhone that allows me to listen to Capitals games?

Thanks.

I have that. What's the actual "play by play" radio station for Caps games?

So, Perreault seems the favorite for the final spot. Where do we play him? 13th forward? 3C? Give him a shot at 2C?

There is a WFED1500 app for the iPhone and it is running with Walton in all his glory. It's about a minute behind the visual though.

I'd have him as a 13th or on the 4th line.

So is this going to be what the opening day roster is going to look like?

Ovi-MaJo-Brouwer
Knubble-Backstrom-Semin
Ward-Perreault-Laich
Chimera-Halpern-Hendricks

Alzner-Carlson
Hammer-Green
Orlov-Wideman

Also did Perreault improve his defensive play this past camp? Not to mention Orlov seems to be getting the same type of praise Carlson was getting when he was coming up through the ranks.

Who cares about Orlov, if your 5th D-Man is Wideman, something is going right for your team.

Knuble will always be first line and Laich 2nd, they are the front of the net guys.

* 1 B in Knuble
* If Laich is on the 3rd line, its at center only. He's either a 2nd line wing or 3rd line center.
If Laich plays 2nd line wing, Brouwer is takes the 3rd line wing spot. Yer boy Perreault plays in that scenario maybe
* Orlov is getting praise and it may be the same type, but his defensive play was not talked about in the same way as recently as Boudreau's past game presser. Carlson plays on the team shutdown defense pair. Orlov is not even projected there much less talked about ready to play there.

I understand Schultz hate, but I dont see Orlov taking Schultz place in the lineup.

I doubt very much that Backstrom won't be the 1st line centerman at the salary he gets paid....
So put MaJo as the 2nd line C and you got it right for the rest IMO.

I think you could make a pretty fair case that Semin-Backstrom-Knuble would be the first line.

Semin - Backstrom - Knuble
Chimera - Laich - Ward
Hendricks - Halpern - Beagle
Perreault

Green - Hamrlik
Carlson - Alzner

Well. It's just a matter of time. He's so talented. He'll get called up at some point this year.

Just now looking at the stats for preseason. Brouwer with 5 assists in 4 games. Not too shabby.

Perreault stepped up. Gotta give him a roster spot.

Alzner and Carlson not really starting well in the +\- category.

Semin...5 games...no points. -2. Fantastic. God mode!

I'm actually a little worried about Carlzner. They didn't play particularly well in the pre-season. Hopefully any regression is minor.

Ovechkin - Johansson - Brouwer
Semin - Backstrom - Knuble
Chimera - Laich - Ward
Hendricks - Halpern - Beagle
Perreault/King

Alzner - Carlson
Hamrlik - Green
Schultz - Wideman
Collins

Vokoun
Neuvirth

Let Orlov start in Hershey. Call him up sometime later.

i think the lines work out that way by the time the playoffs role around. laich as the 3c makes a lot of sense.

i worry about carlson/alzner on the margins in sophmore slumpville. but only on the margins. if +/- was really important then....you know....+50.

i was watching semin competing for pucks in the corner and making decisions and backchecking last night. his compete level was pretty high. i worry less about lack of production from 8 and 28 in the preseason because they seem to be trying to expand their skills rather than rely on the tried and true and that never brings in big numbers.

the only big hit ive seen by ovechkin in preseason was repulsing someone else's hit.

as for the 7 on d? they send orlov to hershey and go with 6 til their first multi game road trip. by then erskine should be ready. if not then they call up patty or collins as a backup.

I wonder if the lack of an interpreter will be something the Caps will look at when it comes to sending Orlov to the Bears. Last season he had Kugryshev, this season no one.

I just can't see them going with 6 roster D. I know Hershey is close. And I know if rarely happens. But if someone pulls something in a pregame skate no matter home or away you need someone there.

Interrupter?

You know your English is bad when you need someone around you at all times to say, "No no, what he meant to say was...".
