Tochkin wants to have a few more looks, playing very well.

Longpre continues to look solid

I think its better off that the Canucks send Rodin back to play in Sweden this year. He's way too weak to play in the AHL. The kid looks overwhelmed.

He needs to learn how to play North American hockey and on small ice. Not going to do that in Sweden.

I'm liking Nathan Longpre, he seems like a pretty slick, smart player.

He knew how to play on the small ice pretty well in the WJC putting up over a point a game, so I'm not sure what his problem is..perhaps his shoulder isn't completely there?

I think it looks like his Shoulder problems didn't allow him to do any upper-body excersices at all. No bench presses and what not. Looks really tiny because of it I think.

Longpre stopped a couple of breakouts by skating back hard and getting his stick into the passing lanes, nice work.

Rodin...I don't know if it's the shoulder problems or not, but something's not right there. Concerning.

Friesen's looking pretty good, first time I've seen him be effective physically at this level.

Agreed with those saying Tochkin has looked (surprisingly) decent.

Also agreed with the completely underwhelming play of Rodin.

Not going to read a whole huge lot into that right now, as this is just a prospect tourny and a sort of bleak lineup for tonight at that. But i still don't really see anything to justify how high some people have been on Rodin.

Exactly, I like that he takes the puck to the net though and has good speed and stickhandling. Looks weak and kind of scared ,maybe hes nervous maybe its the shoulder who knows.

Meh Longpre looks alright. Isn't he 23 playing against a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds? Overrated.

um, yes? He was the guy who skated it out of the corner and took it to the net in the first place.

Does anyone know why Gene Principe is doing the pbp for this tournament? Low man on the Sportsnet totem pole I guess? He's terrible and at least once today has said something profoundly dumb (and borderline insulting/insensitive).

He should stick to Oilers games.

Looks like Honzik might get John Garret's nickname, "lotto", as he seems to be close to a 6.49 goal against average.
