It's all good...I can recall when Flames fans were talking about Chuck Kobasew when he was a prospect, and how he was going to be every bit as impactful a player as Hemsky (both were rookies at the time).

Time will tell, I'm not about to lament a missed opportunity quite yet with him.

I still haven't heard a final score but after going through this thread this is what I came up with can someone please confirm.

Flames rookies win 4-3.

Lander, Pitlick and Marincin score for the Oilers?

lol wishful thinking.. Sven has already signed a contract with Calgary. Erixon never even signed.

Man I love Lander already. Hearing the dissapointment in his voice in his interview with Dan Tencer after the game.. the guy is just a natural born leader. He had a very strong tournament and lead the team in points but all he could talk about was how dissapointed he was in the loss and that he thought he could play even better than he did. Love this kid!

I'd like it if the Young Stars Tournament developed a trophy like the Traverse City Rookie Tournament. Invite the Ducks again, have the teams into 2 Pools, 2 game round robin, seed them by wins and goal differential for tie break, then the seeds play each other with the 1st seeds playing for the trophy.

Tyrvainen is a beast. He impressed me the most, because I had lower expectations.

If you've liked Tyrvšinen so far, wait until you see Lennart Petrell in action...

Isn't he 26-27 or something? I think Tyrvšinen is only 21.

1) He flubbed it. Garbage.

2) Skill, I'll admit.

3) Meh. I remember that goal vaguely at the time. The goalie SHOULD have had it (if he were NHL quality) - much like Hamilton's bad-angle goal.

And I totally forgot why I brought this up again. I like MPS's game even though he's not as skilled as others.

I'm also interested in watching Petrell, he was a possible contender for a fourth line spot before they brought in all the new players.

Yes, Petrell is basically a bigger, more skillfull/better scorer, perhaps slightly slower version of Tyrvšinen. Hits just as much/hard.

Petrell is a great skater. Better than Tyrvšinen for his size easily.
