Blues fans won't like this at all. Oshie and Schwartz for two RHD? Did you forget that we already have Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, and Polak over there?

Not that the value is great, either.

Value is there in the first but the need is not for either team. Oshie is redundant as we have Kulemin who plays the same role. Also the loss of Schenn severely weakens our D. From the blues perspective they have Shattenkirk and Pietrangelo on the right side so no need for Schenn.

The second deal also makes very little sense as we don't really fill any needs.

I don't know how many threads this needs to be said in. The Blues do not need a RH defenseman. Trading a forward that projects to be on the Blues opening day top 6 for a rh defenseman does not make the team better it hurts the team...

I'd say no to the first one since I'm extremely excited about Schwartz (more than Tarasenko, in fact), and can't wait to see him in the note. Plus it creates more holes than filling them.

As for the second one, I doubt Preds do it.

Hahaha I'm guessing you have never seen Blum play. Kid's penciled in to be the #3 d-man behind Suter and Weber and was playing huge minutes after getting called up last year.
No interest in even trading Blum alone for that package.

Luke Schenn will be one of the top D-man in the NHL,Toronto would be foolish to trade him.

This. If anyone doesn't understand why the Leaf-Blues threads get to where they end up it is because of OP's like this one, they just simply make no sense at all.

These are honestly so bad for the Leafs, I think the OP must be a Blues or Preds fan in disguise.

The Leafs aren't trading key pieces for other teams scraps.

Good God. nashville doesn't touch that deal with a 10 foot pole. Blum is criminally under-rated around here....

It doesn't sound like Toronto would do it either, so bad trade for both sides.

I think the 2nd proposal isn't that bad actually.

The 1st one is pretty slanted to Toronto though.

Oshie is a 2nd/3rd liner that can't stay healthy, and Schwartz didn't even make the Blues lineup.

They aren't even close to attractive trade pieces for the Leafs.

Wait, you're kidding... Right? Right?

Anyway, there are so, so many things wrong with this proposal, from all sides of it.

1) Leafs don't do it because Schenn is easily their best trade piece in a package for a legit #1C (read: not Tim Connolly). I don't see a #1C coming back to the Leafs. Hence, no deal from their perspective.

2) How many times must it be said that the Blues are set on the right side of the blueline? The only reason to trade two good young pieces like Oshie (who is absolutely a top-6 forward that hasn't even reached his potential yet, Megan Fox) and Schwartz is a blue chip prospect that's pretty close to the NHL. Unless a top pairing LHD is coming back, Ues won't make any trade, period.

3) If Nashville has trouble signing one or both of Weber and Suter (which MAY happen Preds fans, but not for sure, obviously), then Blum has the talent, poise, and skillset to step into the top pair as soon as 2012-2013 if the need arises. They will not part with Blum, unless it's in a package for a legit scoring top-3 forward.

Basically, this trade sucks on all sides. Good day.

I feel sorry for some of the quality Leaf posters on here. You really give Leaf fans a bad rep...

Moreso than what is being offered here. Blum/Oshie/Schwartz do nothing for the Leafs, and have done nothing in the NHL.

Wake up HF, Leafs aren't trading their prime, young talent for your mediocre packages.

Quantity =/= quality.

First off...Fail. The same number of players was offered in the Blues deal and there was more players offered from the Leafs in the Preds deal.

Second...I wouldn't trade Blum alone for that package. Mac was good last year, but has been mediocre at best the rest of his career. Prime talent?

I can underrate players too.
