On the livestream they had on release date in NA, they showed something to do with lines? I think it might've been something to do with saving lines, how? Also, how you make your team available for other people to play in the 24/7 mode?

You can play against other peoples teams when they're not online, when you play a single player match (I think) there's a "league" with 3+ teams suited to your skill level with one under, one equal and one over.

I'm pretty sure it's just automatically setup that your team will be an option for the offline HUT. If someone plays it you get pucks.
Have 1,800 odd pucks so far and I am deciding to save up until I get 7,500 and a Jumbo Pack as I can then Improve my team and/or sell off the good players for big numbers and get more jumbo packs. The only downside is that, if I play on Pro (I'm talking 24/7 game against other people's teams) I can get around 350-400 against the highest rated. If I play against the best rated on All-Star I reckon I can get around 400-500 depending on the score. The only problem is that every few games I have to buy contract cards which means that the games just played, meant nothing. Do you reckon that there would be cheap contract cards (150-250) for 10 games or so on the market? Also, how do people get so far ahead so quickly, what number of pucks do you normally get?

I actually started with quite a few pucks by playing NHL 11 HUT. As far as making money.. you can play the market a little. For example I saw a Phaneuf on "buy now" for 4000 pucks. I bought him and ended up selling him for 8000.
I haven't really looked at the market for contracts, but I don't think they would be too expensive. The problem with Jumbo packs is you get guaranteed rares but that doesn't necessarily mean they are player cards. I've got packs with like 2 rare training cards, one contract and a decent player. When that happens you can't even sell them for the value of the pack you just bought.

What system you on? I have a bunch of extra contract cards.
I've played the market and gotten some packs with mostly consumables. You can find some good deals and consumables don't run you too much. Also I just discard the scrub players I get in packs to recoup some of my losses. Keep beating up on guys in the 24/7 mode too.

do you get a chance at acquring better rares by buying jumbo packs over standard packs? I asked this on another thread and didn't get a response. But it would seem to me that if you can buy 3 standard packs and get 3-6 rares, 36 total cards its beteter than 1 jumbo pack of 4-5 rares, 22 total cards.

I don't think the probability of getting better cards increases with Jumbo packs but that's something EA would have to verify. I'm with you on the standard packs being more bang for the buck. Also if you get say 4-6 scrubs in each standard pack you can get back around 600 or so pucks by discarding them, 65ish for each scrub they give you a puck per pt of OVR .
Opened a standard pack. Got contracts, head coach, training and a few players rated no higher than 70. That can't be worth 2,500. What players does everyone else get in those packs?
I'm not even worrying about buying packs now. I can get good stuff on the market cheap and guarantee myself a good player instead of gambling with jumbos. Umberger for 2k, Thornton for 5k, Staal for 5k. I'm slowly building my team through good deals. I went after packs last year and had mixed results.

The contracts and training make up most of the supposed "rares". Doesn't guarantee a player at all. Which sucks.
I opened up a couple jumbo packs (msp) and got a few good players (80+ overalls..) but with the standard packs i havent got any decent players.
edit: just opened up another jumbo pack.. got david moss, steve mason (84/92 goalie) (put him up for 5,000 buy it now.. look for him :p), chris osgood and sebastien caron... all are around 80 overall.
Im pretty pissed about being matched up against players acrossed the world. I was undefeated and they match me up with a foreigner and it was so laggy i couldnt keep control of the puck and lost like 9-0. That isnt fair at all, its impossible to have a really good record I guess. Bummed me out
