OT: Stick and Puck locations and times

I want to brush up my hockey skills again and possibly join a team in the near future. I looked at 8-rinks and they have stick and puck times everyday, but most of those times fall within my working hours before 5pm. Plus, I think $10 is pretty expensive.

Where else is a good place to practice in the Vancouver/Burnaby/Richmond/Coquitlam area that offers stick and puck times outside after 6pm?

After 6 PM is pretty tough. I don't know any that do that on a regular basis.

no problem...

parking might be a pain though, there are a few places you can park around thunderbird for free if you know the area well but those places are generally pretty full.

i'd suggest to drive close to ubc, park your car and take the bus to thunderbird

if you live close to SFU, you might as well pay that $10 instead of $7.50.

Driving to and from UBC might just cost you that $2.50 already.

Here are the rinks in Vancouver. http://vancouver.ca/parks/rec/rinks/index.htm
You can click on "current" under schedule for each arena to see when the Hockey drop-in times are.

The West End schedule wasn't showing up for me but this is where I use to go for drop in hockey the most. I remember they had late night hockey on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, from 10:15pm to 11:45pm. It was $5.50 but they may have changed the prices. It is a weird rink to play in because it is smaller then regulation sized but it is still plenty of fun and a good place to practice and learn. You should give them a call to get more accurate information.

edit: just noticed West End rink opens October 10th.

RIC (Richmond Ice Center) has daily stick and puck for iirc $5 or sth.
It starts very early in the morning so you can give it a try

Planet Ice in Coquitlam also offers it but mainly during the day.

As for the bolded part... Honestly if you think $10 is expensive to get on the ice you won't like how much a winter season costs.

ashl is about $900 a person, or $30 a game. winning in the playoffs is less about winning and more about getting your money's worth

At the Delta Planet Ice it's only $7.50, so that's a bit better than $10 if the Coquitlam one does it too. Here it's usually at 2:30-4 during days. Like everyone's saying, it seems S&P is offered mainly before 5PM.

I went last week. With taxes my total came to $6.45. By far the best deal IMO.
