I don't want LA to trade Doughty and doubt they do. However if he was moved what of the following packages would LA fans prefer?

Winnipeg- Kane, Bogosian, Klingberg and a 1st rd pick
NYI- Okposo, Niederreiter,Dehaan and 1st rd pick
EDM- Paajarvi, Gilbert, Klefbom and 1st rd pick
NYR- Dubinsky,Wolski,Del Zotto/Kreider and 1st rd pick
TOR-Kessel, Franson,Colborne and 1st rd pick

Please dont debate the worth but just simply respond to what would be LA's best deal. Thanks for your opinions!

For the record I prefer the Winnipeg deal as it lands LA a young power forward LW with 40 goal potential who can play 1st line and a young dman with a lot of upside.

LA's best deal is to sign Doughty.

There are no signs that the relationship is done.

I would prefer the Winnipeg package, given that Bogosian is in the best position to replace Doughty's on-ice impact immediately, the value of the young winger in Kane, as well as the possibility of getting a slightly higher pick as compensation after Edmonton.

Winnipeg easily... The team is still not looking to strong for them(No one should really expect them to be that good this season) which means a high 1st rounder, PLUS, Bogosian was drafted just right behind Doughty and his potential still seems pretty high(playing with a weak Atlanta team at the time did not help him) and Evander Kane is looking to be a total monster, though, I doubt the Thrashers would want to deal him.

If I had to pick one I think I'd go with the NYI deal closely followed by WIN

Why can't we debate the value? What is the purpose of the excersize otherwise? Did you plant a bug in TL's and DL's office and you know the exact terms of possible trades?

Take the Isles package, then move DeHaan for Bogosian!

Okposo-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Brown
Penner-Stoll-Neiderreiter
Clifford-Richardson-Lewis

Johnson-Mitchell
Bogosian-Scuderi
Martinez-Greene

Either the Islanders or the Jets for sure.

Winnipeg- Kane, Bogosian, Klingberg and a 1st rd pick
NYI- Okposo, Niederreiter,Dehaan and 1st rd pick

Kane - Kopitar - Williams
Gagne - Richards - Brown
Clifford - Stoll - Penner
Richardson - Lewis - Moreau

Johnson - Mitchell
Bogosian - Scuderi
Martinez - Greene

or

Penner - Kopitar - Okposo
Gagne - Richards - Williams
Clifford - Stoll - Brown
Neiderreiter - Lewis - Richardson

Johnson - Mitchell
Voynov - Scuderi
Martinez - Greene

Although I think I like this lineup the best:

Penner - Kopitar - Williams
Gagne - Richards - Brown
Clifford - Stoll - Richardson
Parse - Lewis - Moreau

Mitchell - Doughty
Johnson - Scuderi
Martinez - Greene

Ultimately, I wouldn't want any of those deals. I would counter Doughty and a pick to Winnipeg for Enstrom and Kane.

God forbid he's ever traded.

But if it ever happened,
it'd better be to NHL East

The Islanders package is the best, followed closely by the Jets.

They are both overpayments for Doughty imo.

You're not allowed to do that!!!! DO NOT DEBATE THE WORTH!!!!!

Unfortunately the OP forgot to mention the Penguins and Capitals options:

Ovechkin, Backstrom, Greene and a first
Crosby, Malkin, LeTang and the first overall that they traded Staal for (if they trade Staal for the first overall).

What if they traded Doughty for Dr. Emmett Brown and his time machine and went back and got Sid Abel, King Clancy and Lester Pearson...and the first in 2005. Yep, that's the one.

That would be supersweet.

I would take Winnipeg's and I would run very fast before the Winnipeg fans get wind of it and try and lynch me.

I love Doughty and want him to be a King forever but I think this roster takes the Kings all the way to the promised land.

Jets fan here.

In no way do the Jets give up either Kane or a first round pick if such a deal were proposed. The organization has already said that they plan to build long-term from within via the draft and will not sacrifice either high value picks or young players in search of a big name target.

Nice try though.

Any of those teams would have to be sniffing copious amounts of glue to make those deals....Why on earth would any of them gut their teams for Doughty? He's a good player with the potential to be great-but that's it. One player.

I agree. I'd be looking at Colorado & something like EJ + O'Reilly.

I like Reaper's idea. You really think we could get Bogosian for DeHaan?

Flyers jump in and offer Voracek, Couturier, Coburn/Meszaros and their first round pick in 2012.
