ya we love our players so the deal would be:

Schenn
Simmonds
Meszaros
1st round pick in '12
1st round pick in '13

for

Doughty

Islanders and Jets offers I would take. Kane in a Kings jersey would epic.

The Jets offer has the highest level of talent, but there would be better offers to be considered IMO.

Even with that, this looks like one of those attempts at Quantity over Quality and IMO this is NOT the kind of deal the KIngs GM makes given the unique level of talent Doughty has.

Edm and Winnipeg also have that "Drew got what he deserved" feel to it as well, which has zero merit when evaluating the benefit of the assets to LA...but it would still sting the young Mr Doughty if a trade were to happen.

Nice try though.

IMO, I think they would rather give up Bogosian and a 1st but not including Kane.

So Winnipeg will probably build around Drew and Kane.

But we all know this won't happen.

Don't get your hopes up... It probably won't be anywhere near the value of most of these trades.

I do think a cornucopia of picks would be involved but the NHL-Ready talent that would come back won't be near as good as what is being discussed here.... This of course is in my humble opinion.

That aside Avalanche....

TJ Galiardi, Stefan Elliott, Ryan O'Reilly, 2012 2nd, 2013 1st

THen the Kings simply havent a single reason to deal DD for the next several years. Either we get back an elite forward and an overpayment prospect or why deal him at all? We have the next 5 years to convince to sign a deal with us and his next contract value drops each moment he holds out.

If you are going to offer DD a contract you are absolutely going to bring up the fact that he held out and adjust your offer to protect your team making the amount of cash DD can expect less with each passing moment.

Several GMs say the Kings have made it very clear: Doughty will not be traded.

The only trade i really liked that i saw someone post on hf boards was this:

Doughty

for

Green
Kuznetsov
2012 1st pick

I know green has a subpar defensive game, but pair him with Scuderi and i feel somewhat safe....Kuznetsov has the potential to be a superstar in the making....and a first is a first

I'm a closet Kings fan... They're my #2 team in the West... I wouldn't want to see Doughty traded... Not even to the Avalanche...

This just looks too right.
