He played more aggressively in the second half last season. I think the "cup of coffee" in LA and the All-Star selection did wonders for his confidence...

I did not realize Dora was signed for Manchester. I usually follow this stuff pretty closely and din't see mention of it anywhere. He's not currently listed with the Monarchs and they've been updating daily with the transactions???

I can't believe how much time Steckel got. He has god awful on every shift. He floated, has zero hands and hits like a school girl

I thought I'd stop by the LA Kings official site to maybe see some photos of camp...how annoying that I can't get to it because I can't get around the stupid Flash update. It's great to have a nice looking site, but when people can't use it easily, it becomes pointless. I give the Kings site a F for being user-friendly.

I thought Conner James played well. He is very very fast, and seemed to stick handle, good to me. I am going to make a bold statement here, but I really believe he could be a Martin St.Louis type player. During the 3 on 5 powerplay, he went down to 2 knees to block a slapper from the point. He was facing the shot, that takes some serious balls to do!

Before Mr. James can go onto professional hockey greatness, he needs to convince the Kings to give him a contract, be it an NHL or AHL deal, Connor needs to convince...He's one of the Kings top 20 prospects according to the rankings here, he's completed his college eligibility, and as far as I know, he's not signed to any deal. Seems that with "all the Kings men" scrambling to put together an AHL roster for this season, there would be room for one of their top-20 prospects in Manchester???

I am shocked no one put today's game score up yet.

Kings whooped on Phoenix today: 11-2

Yes, ELEVEN!

Ducks won in the evening game 6-2.

Stats: G-A-P
Kanko: 4-1-5 (including a shorthanded goal)
Lukajic: 2-1-3
Basiuk: 0-3-3
James: 1-1-2
Fortier: 1-1-2
Clarke: 1-1-2
Bull: 0-2-2
Steckel: 1-0-1
Hogeboom: 1-0-1
Dora: 0-1-1
Barr: 0-1-1
Grebs: 0-1-1

Munce: 2 goals in 30 mins.
Fukufuji: 0 goals in 30 mins.

Goals by Period
Los Angeles: 3-4-4
Phoenix: 2-0-0

Shots on Goal
Los Angeles: 13-19-13
Phoenix: 10-3-11

Three Stars
1: Kanko
2: Clarke
3: Lukajic

Basically, the three best players for the Kings tonight were the same three from last night: Kanko, Clarke, and Grebs. Although, a few of us came to the same conclusion: Grebs play declines the later in the game it gets. We noticed it last night and again tonight.

I'm guessing Steckel's goals were of the garbage variety? I can't see this guy out-finessing/skating anyone.

Can anyone give me an opinion on how the poor Coyote prospects looked/played? Always good to hear something from a more objective perspective...

I fixed that. He only had 1 goal, not 2. And his lone goal was scored while I was looking up some stats, so I didn't see it. Opps!

Coyotes prospects:

lots of big guys that didn't show me any talent. Ballard the exception. I was just waiting for the Ducks/Sharks not caring who won between LA/Phx and it was sad how bad the Coyotes prospects looked. All these big guys with not a lot of skill to show today. The Kings forwards basically got to do whatever they wanted, dancing around the Coyotes.

The goalie I don't recall his name, needs a lot of work as well.

Ballard has top four potential.

McLeod was ok but should use his size more.

Bathe was physical.
