Forcing DD to sit?

What happens if the kings pull their offer to DD and FORCE him to sit? Or let's say the kings replace their current offer with a 2yr $6mil deal and DD refuses to sign? If there is a offer on the table and DD does not sign it and no teams make a offer sheet, is DD forced to sit while the kings have no worries about losing him to free agency? If the kings just pull their offer out of spite and he gets no offer sheets is DD ***** out of luck? At this point I would like to see him sit so he can learn that he can't always get what he wants and there is a greater good other than receiving the largest paycheck on the team.

Kings own Drew's rights for 7 years of service or 27 years of age. If he doesn't play, he has to wait until he is 27 to sign as an UFA.

He can sign any offer sheet that he wants, but the Kings can match.

That's what I thought but was not sure. I would lower the offer and hope he holds out. VV can take his place while DD's value goes down

Drew can always sign the 1 year qualifying offer, I don't think the Kings can't pull that one

But no, that would not accomplish much except make cause an even bigger rift between the two parties. And Drew can always sign in Europe somewhere, if it goes that far.

Qualifying offers automatically expire on July 15th unless the team provides written notice by July 15th that the qualifying offer has been extended.

With that being the case, I hope he sits until he signs a deal worth far less than the current offer. DD was arguably my favorite player. Now he is my least favorite and would not mind trading him as long as the return is fair. And that is just sad considering that we all thought we had a generational player that actually wanted to be a king. Looks like that was just bs
