Duffy would look good in Halifax, and there's interest........but I don't see it being a fit. The pieces just don't add up. Plus, Halifax needs to address the defense first. Only so many assets to go around.

Besides halifax I see Gatineau and maybe Quesbec as being a good fit right now for Duffy also Suprisingly would Bathurst be interested in Duffy for next yr? Imagine a line of bissonette-Duffy-O'brien that would be deadly. There are always a few other teams but right now those look like good fits for Duffy. Also I wonder if any of the teams looking to make a run would be interested in Max Lagace? If we dont trade Duffy this franchise is done here on PEI and thats to bad because I am one of the very few that call the Rocket my team and am proud to call them that. I really like Dwyer and feel he can bring a winner here. So please Savard dont F this up please

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rocket hang onto Duffy until the Xmas trading period with the way Savard operates where he might want to keep Duffy around for the younger players and such.

Wingman I agree it wouldnt suprise me but at some point next yr Duffy has to be traded unless at xmas we r in a suprising position but if not he has to be traded! But Savard has to build a winner soon a lot of people are getting fed up and I think these last 3 home games are gonna be a sad number of people. But with the Panthers selling out hopefully Savard realizes build a winner and the fans will come. Wingman is there any1 else u see a chance of being traded at draft day max lagace maybe?

If Savard hadn't realized until now that if you build a winning team the fans will come, then he shouldn't own a sports team. But then again this is the same organization that put in the season renewal letters that attendance has to pick up before they are able to compete with the bigger market teams and this was done with the knowledge that fans are fed up with the losing.

As far as Lagace I hope they hang onto him for a bit and see how both he and Bibeau develops, I would hate to see them jump the gun, move one of them and then find out the one they kept can't get the job done. Just my thought on this but if they develop them both right and do things right along the way, they could end up with 2 solid goalies where one of them could eventually be an attractive trading chip. For the promised/supposed competitive team 2 years down the road, Lagace will be a 20 so that should be a consideration as to what they want to do and when.

Well it's official the Rocket have been eliminated from playoffs. Now there is rumblings about the team moving and being sold. If that isn't the case we have the second overall pick. Who do you see the Rocket selecting at #2 or do we trade the pick?

Trade the Moose Duffy I think it's best to trade it maybe. Get something in return and finally start a rebuild in PEI.

Yeah we actually do have a good core of young players trade Duffy and Lagace and I can see Savard trading the second overall pick also

Expect the Rocket to trade the 2nd round pick as none of our high end drafts ever work out due to the Rocket being too cheap.

I'm not sure Duffy will be traded at the draft either. Serge doesn't have the smarts to make this a contending team. We all heard how the Rocket didn't receive any good offers for Duffy. Then a couple weeks later we hear Serge saying Duffy will be a 140 point player next year, which tells us, he expected too good a deal in a trade.

Also, Summerside is still trying to bring an actual QMJHL team in, thus why they are slow with their negotiations on the Summerside Storm. I heard Serge offered to move the Rocket to Summerside, because of the success of the Storm, but Summerside said no thanks.

Interesting question.

Am I a rocket insider? For this American site, you betcha.
Am I a pissed off fan? Who isn't with a failure of a team for how many seasons now?

The only thing that will make this team successful is if Jr. is fired. In my opinion, Trent Birt is merely a puppet with Jr pulling the strings.

Do you agree or disagree?

So with the draft less than a week away what are everyones thoughts? Will we draft with the #2 pick or will we trade it away will we still have Ben Duffy after the draft? Will we make any other moves Savard says this team will be a contender in 2 years time but I think we have a lot of moves that need done whats everybody's thoughts?

Savard needs to make some good moves or else he will be shown the door. I don't remember the last time the Rocket were good.

Looking forward to see what they do this week

I agree and I don't have much confidence in him doing so but lets hope they turn it around! We as Island fans deserve a winning team

I think Savard has already kinda screwed the pooch in terms of Duffy. What reason would he have to keep Duffy last year? No reason, other than the fact he was asking too much.

Now, hes probably going to want similar value to what he was offered in December, but hes not gonna get it, and if he holds out again, which I very much think he could, Duffy will finish his career as a Rocket, they'll probably finish near the bottom, get swept in the first round, and get nothing out of it.

Savard is probably looking for a 1st + for duffy, which is outlandish for a 20 year old who scored 38 goals and is 5'11, 160 somthing. He was worth that at 19, probably more, but not anymore.

I know he didn't have the best team to play on when he scored 38, but he saw the ice a lot.

I think Duffy can fetch a 1st round pick at the draft, or a solid young player. He will be among the top forwards next season. A team like Halifax would have no problem sparing a 1st rounder if it meant having a veteran like Duffy scoring points alongside MacKinnon and Drouin.

I honestly believe we will hold onto duffy and not get a thing for him the Rocket will never be a top team and will always be a midpack team at best it is very frustrating for us fans we will draft at #2 and the player probably will not report and we will get nothing out of it. I just honestly see Savard holding onto anyplayers he has that has a bit of value we will never be a top 5 team and it pisses me off, This market should work

Yea and I'd be willing to spend a first on him, but not anything more. Honestly tho I think Halifax plans on using that first round pick. Will be interesting to see how this draft goes down.

I read today on proboards that we might be trading a 2 overall pick has anyone else heard this? I just think if Savard plans on contending next season he should look at adding 17 and 18 yo players

They definately wont be contending, especially if their sellers that are moving Duffy. However , contending teams acquire 18 and 19 year olds not 17s for the most part. Obviously contending teams add older players , not younger..
