7. Second-Line Forward/ No. 3-4 Defenseman / Journeyman No. 1 Goaltender - players not quite good enough to play on the top line or pairing on a regular basis, but still possessing enough talent to contribute offensively, defend with some authority, or competently play the goaltender's position for long stretches.

Defense: Filip Kuba

Stefan Noesen (7.0D, 21st pick) == Brian Ferlin (7.0D, 121st pick)
John Henkelman(3.5D) clearly knows his stuff.

Yeah lol, I can't see how he actually dropped. 7.5C is a fair ranking, but not if he was a 7.5B last time around.

I lold. His work ethic clearly not up to par, his rating is bound to drop a couple notches.

At least he didn't miss the fact that, by scoring 10 goals in the NHL, Bobby Butler is no longer a huge question mark.... He's now only a medium question mark.

Overreaction much?

It's 1 person's opinion...time to trash him for not sharing your collective circle jerking opinion.

Besides it's good for you guys to read something you don't agree with. Somebody who isn't an Ottawa fanboy telling you you're team's prospects aren't as godly as you think they are is a good thing. It's supposed to keep you all level headed. You basically are all on your knees for our prospects, I wonder why the players even have girlfriends.

Excellent point. I would also strongly prefer if everyone agreed with the list as is, and didn't have anything else to say about it. It would save reading through pages and pages of personal opinions.

In all seriousness, yeah it doesn't make sense why Lehner dropped. Is this the same guy who graded Lehner last time? If not then I'd guess that he thought Lehner was overrated last time.

Rankings and ratings are a little messed up but I agree with the 20 selected on that list. We have an impressive amount of talent and depth with this prospect pool so who cares how HF ranks them.

Looks fine to me... if the players are better then what is ranked then they will have no problem surpassing expectations.

I don't understand why people complain so much all the time about rankings.

i'm just disappointed we got a former filatov. I thought for sure murray would have made sure he's still filatov before making the trade.

I'm a little surprised that Derek Grant didn't make the top 20, although if you look at the list on the right he is #20. I think this is a guy who may be ready to break out in Bingo this yr & have a shot at a roster spot next season. He has a nice combination of size & skill, seems to be a very good two way player, good defensively & decent at faceoffs. I just think he will sneak up on people as Greening did last season.

Once again, it's demonstrated that the word "enigmatic" means "Russian with question marks" to the hockey world. Every prospect on that list has questions about whether or not they can produce at the NHL level, in fact, that's the very nature of every prospect. It's what makes them prospects. Yet of course, the only one who's "enigmatic" is the Russian one.

Welcome to the 21st century guys; the Iron Curtain fell over 20 years ago. Russia, and people from Russia, are no more mysterious than people from anywhere else in the world.

EDIT: As for the rest of you complaining about the ratings, the system is entirely subjective and varies hugely from writer to writer. Quite frankly, it's an incredibly simplistic and flawed metric in the first place, so I wouldn't be overly concerned about how one writer ranks a first rounder vs how the Boston writer ranks some random 4th rounder.
