HIFK better start winning soon or it's going to be a really tough road, even home advantage could slip out of their reach. But they're gonna be in top6 for sure.

Are Kuhta, Kurvinen, Nyholm, Piiparinen, & Rajamäki all injured? Why are IFK bringing in so many new guys?

Today's game was pretty bad. Jokerit especially sucked.

Not surprising with those forward lines.
I'd go with Ruutu-Filppula-Rita, Mäki-Eaves-Pulkkinen, Teräväinen-Kerälä-Ruuttu, Hännikäinen-Tyrväinen-Heino Saturday against Ässät.

11 goals in 14 games and if Zaborsky could only score on breakaways Javanainen's record would surely be toast.

Jumps and the elbow rises, just pathetic. Would guess he gets atleast 2 games.
Dixon also was in the giving end on a nasty looking hit. Could be a game, but not sure.
Have to wait and see.
Positives are that noone seemed to be seriously hurt and the coaches didn't want to make a huge deal about the hits after the game.
Edit. Dixon hit from 1:58 and Lintner hit right after.

Great player, but just an awful hit. Just like Juzmo said, he jumped and clearly targeted Santavuori's head. Paalanen also totally lost his mind when attacking Smolenak.
About Smolenak, wasn't he supposed to be some kind of a 3rd line grinder? He's been really good so far, least when I've seen him, especially in front of goal, where he's been scoring from rebounds etc.

I think we fans got the idea that he would be somekind of physical forward maybe on the third or second line who would maybe score 25 points infront of the goal.
Isn't really that physical and not his game doesn't seem that excellent, but he just seems to be at the right place at the right time often. Good around the net also and good linemates in Stephan Dixon and Tomas Zaborsky have obviously had a huge affect on his game and point-total also.

Lintner gets two games and Dixon none.
Two games not a suprise since Santavuori wasn't killed.

According to yle Bengt-Åke Gustafsson has been let go by his KHL team. It would be so comical if HIFK replaced Matikainen with him.
Brändikiekkoo hei, eller hur?

Been playing modded FHR2004 so I haven't been checking up on the SML lately, but holy crap, Tomas Zaborsky with 15 goals in 20 games? That is unbelievable. Is it unreasonable to think he could get 40 goals this season? Maybe more?
