Buffalo has no reason to move Kassian. He doesn't count against the cap and chances are he is going to be a big draw in Rochester, a team they just bought as well.

If Buffalo moves him, it'll be to shore up their center position. And since they are still pretty small up front, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to pick up Gagner.

How would Sabres fans feel about picking up Hemsky at the deadline? I've always thought he'd be a perfect compliment to Vanek.

Buffalo has too much money tied up in Wingers as it is.... All we need are Centers.... of the Physical kind .

Reasoning:
Buff: Get some skill to go along with their stale offensive top-6, also pick up a 3rd rounder in a very strong draft.
Edm: Omark is a top 6 or nothing (In Edm's case), and with their prospect depth for skill top 6 they might want to consider getting a power forward project. Kassian complete upside is a 2nd liner, big bodied presence who can pot the puck in the net occasionally.

Thoughts? Comments? I don't usually make proposals so cut me some slack.

If value isn't there, please offer positive insight how we can make it work. Not just a "Buffalo hangs up phone laughing hysterically and refuses to ever talk to Oilers GM for everz!!111"

They were 9th in the NHL in scoring last year...

Vanek = 2x 40 goal season, 4x 30 goal seasons
Roy = 3x 25+ goal seasons,
Stafford = 1x 30 goal season, 2x 20+ goal seasons
Pominville = 5x 20+ goal seasons, 4x 60+ pt seasons
Ennis = 1x 20 goal rookie season
Leino - 1x 50+ pts in first full season
Boyes = 3x 55+ pt seasons

Give him a break he's a Wings fan, they know nothing outside their little bubble. Most of them weren't even hockey fans until 1995

I'm not sure what this does for either team to be honest. Buffalo is already small, and Edmonton doesn't really need Kassian with the way Hamilton and Hartikainen have been developing. I do think Edmonton may look to move Omark this season though, and if we can get a guy like Kassian for him, I would be okay with that.

NO WAY in hell.

Also, how does Buffalo have a stale top 6?
