he injury improvement continued for forwards Tyler Ennis (ankle) and Jochen Hecht (concussion), who skated Saturday morning but did not play. They are possibilities for the Sabres' next game, Wednesday at home against Boston. Goaltender Ryan Miller missed his fourth straight game with a concussion.

"He's still not quite right but doing better," Ruff said.

Cody McCormick (upper body) missed his third straight game, while defenseman Mike Weber (upper body) missed the second of what could be many.

"I think you put him in weeks," Ruff said of Weber, who was placed on injured reserve.

TBN guys seem to think it was some kind of hand injury.

No update until tomorrow.

What is with Buffalo sports and injuries this year. Can't one team enjoy an easy successful season for once?

Four players (McCormick, Miller, Weber, Myers) leaving the lineup in a seven-day period.

So does this mean our injury prone vet will play his first game back from a lengthy concussion injury against Boston? What could possibly go wrong?

If Hecht comes off of LTIR, we have to shed the equivalent of a $2,020,357 cap hit to be compliant.
They can accomplish this by putting a combination of players on LTIR (Myers and Weber, for example) and sending down a waiver-exempt forward (Adam or Tropp).
Miller to LTIR also solves it without removing any skaters.

left wing Tyler Ennis suffered a setback in his return from a sprained ankle.

"A little bit sore so decided to keep him off," Ruff said. "I think some of that can be expected. We ramped up the workload, so it tells us hes not quite there yet."

Boyes is "LBI", clearly an ankle and per Ruff will be out "some time".

Kaleta is also a "LBI" and is day to day. He tried it this morning in the morning skate and couldn't go.

LBI for Kaleta is a little reassuring that it's not his neck.

With Ennis day-to-day, you'd have to assume that Myers and Weber were placed on LTIR to get us compliant.
Kaleta, McCormick, and Miller are still on the active roster, so they obviously have not been.
Myers definitely has to be one of the players, as Ennis and Weber don't account for enough salary to make us compliant.

If the duo of Myers and Weber were indeed placed on IR, we only have $1,200 to spare each day with our current roster.
With the injury to Boyes, we'll likely have to place someone else on LTIR, as $1,200 won't cover another recall (the minimum daily salary is $2,837.84).

I would expect it to be Miller to clear enough space.
