I interpret offensive/defensive awareness as the ability of the player to read the play and be in the best position to score/defend.

Is that right or is there more to it then that, because in BAP mode im not increasing either because i feel as though since i am controlling the positioning it is unneccessary. Thoughts?

Playing my second year in the WHL with the Tri-City Americans, as a powerforward right winger. Been on the first line with Hughesman and Shinnimin since the middle of my rookie year, and I find great chemistry with those guys. The first year i played on All Star, but found it a bit unrealistic that a 16/17yo would win the scoring race... So I turned it up to superstar, now my stats feels more realistic and i'm finding it funnier to play also. Every goal is hard earned, and my shooting % is real bad. Trying to be more of a playmaker now instead.

Here is my stats so far!

Age: 17 (1995)
Position: RW, PWF

WHL 11/12
GP: 72
G: 47
A: 64
P: 111

WHL 11/12 - Playoffs
GP: 5
G: 1
A: 4
P: 5

WHL 12/13 (so far)
GP: 28
G: 12
A:26
P: 38

As you can see, my scoring has gone down a bit, and this year i'm on pace for 30 goals. It's hard right now, and i can't imagine how though it will be in the NHL when the average goalie will be around 86OVR. Guess i might try to carve out a career as a good PK-guy with 30-40pts a year or something like that, instead of the 100 point a year-guy i saw last year, because that feels impossible. I still believe it's funnier this way, it's more of an challenge than playing on Pro and score 200 goals per season. Although my agent still tells me i'm projected to go in the 1st or 2nd round of the draft, so we'll see. Will update after the season!

1 g, 19 assists as a play-maker after 10 games. 68 overall on pro difficulty too lol

My guy can't shoot at all, goalies have a good 10s before my shots even reach the net lol

Hmm... so i've been doing a pro mode as a Center Playmaker on the Quebec Ramparts... i had 49 goals and 60 some assists to have 114 points.
Grigorenko had 116 points... (on my line)
I went 1st overall, he went in the 3rd round..... what?!?!?

Does anyone find Superstar too easy? I've played around 35 games and I have over 70 points already. Is there any way to make the game harder, perhaps a specific slider I can tweak?

Yes, my guy got traded today from the Dallas Stars to the Florida Panthers. I was packaged with a 2nd round pick for like Evgenii Dadonov, Brandon Yip, and another pick.

Also my guy was a 50 goal scorer at this time

I had gotten drafted 1st overall by the Flames and had a good rookie season for 40+ points, 27 goals. Terrible sophomore slump and got sent to the AHL. Spent my third year entirely in Abbotsford. Ended up signing with Dallas on a one year $700k contract. I've got 100 points with about seven games left in the year and I'm racing Ovechkin for the Richard Trophy right now! Hopefully a huge paycheck comes my way in the off season!

What's it like when your contract expires? Im curious because im only in my first season!
Can you decline a resign as an RFA? demand a trade?
Decline to resign as a UFA? Sign where you want?

I have a problem with "be a CHL pro" mode. I create a player, transfer it to a CHL team but can't see him in the player selection screen when I try to start the game. Anyone know why? I tried to change the players contract, attributes etc. pretty much everything, but still can't pick him.

When I play normal exhibition game he's in the roster, but for some reason he's not there when I try to start CHL pro.

It worked before...

Great job EA!

"No unrealistic 45 minutes for a 3rd liner"

Yeah, is that the reason why i clock +22 Minutes every game as a 3rd pairing defenseman?!

I think you just get some offers from random teams. That's what it has been since nhl10.

I just reached the end of my contract with my LW PWF and I got an offer from my current team (New Jersey) and 3 others. I saved right before that and loaded a few times and the 3 teams seemed to be random. It seemed to be a straight UFA sitatuation since I chose a team other than the Devils a few times and never had an offer matched even though the contracts were tiny (1-2 years, 1-2 million)

Anyone know why sometimes your stats aren't actually tallied up at the end of the game especially in BAP G (Which is one of the worst modes in the history of sports games btw)

I have 3 shutouts and ten wins but my stats show 1 SO and 6 W. And of course no coincidence a ton of hockey shop gear is dependent on SO.

BTW only way to do well in BAP G is to get a contract with a good team like Pitt because they score more often than not during a sim. Jump in during the 3rd period (preferably the last 7 minutes so they don't have enough time to ******* u with a garbage goal) and make 2-4 saves for the win. Due to the number of saves you make during the sim you'll actually get reasonable stats, get exp and can upgrade your character to have a fighting chance. Otherwise you can play a full game 1GAA and get a total of 30 exp points because the exp reward system is an abomination

I've played full games where I was 1 GAA and we lost in OT and I got next to no pts because I only faced 8 shots. It's boring, it's draining, infuriating, etc. Ea should be embarassed.

your displayed stats only account for what you do yourself. games/periods you sim don't count towards your bap stats.

In my first season as a rw sniper on all-star....is it just me or are the computer passes horribly slow...like I'll be open on a back door play and call for it and the pass is so slow if it gets thru the goalie is already around and set on my shot...does holding down call for pass make it harder I've tried but dosent seem to work...any way to call for harder pass?

That's the worst.

From what I have noticed, as soon as you touch that pass button the CPU sends a soft past instantly. So irritating. Just terrible AI really.

This game mode P's me off so bad. I always want to play but remember how dreadfully boring and unrealistic it is.

Import Prospect Watch

Mariusz Czerkawski aka "the Polish Wrecking Ball" has just turned 18 and was imported by the London Knights. While little is known about the Polish player till now it seemed like a huge gamble by the Knights. Now though after 16 games it was the best decision the Knights have made all season. Czerkawski leads the league in goals with 19 and points with 29. While he has earned the reputation as a goal scorer he has shocked the league with his physical play racking up an amazing 140 hits so far, next highest person has 44 hits. His physical play has earned him the nickname "The Polish Wrecking Ball". The 6' 4" 193lbs right winger is hoping that this season will lead to him getting drafted. When talking about playing next year his answer has always been "I'm going to play in the NHL". If he keeps up his play it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to see him in the NHL next year.

Player Profile

Name: Maruisz Czerkawski
Origin: Poznan, Poland
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 193lbs
Team: London Knights
Age: 18
Major Stats: 16GP 19G 10A 29P 140H 59PIM 4GWG

Started at 16 with Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL), as a LW with a right-hand shot. Playing on All-Star.

2011-12
R: GP-68 / G-28 / A-61 / P-89
P: GP-9 / G-4 / A-9 / P-13

2012-13
R: GP-68 / G-39 / A-74 / P-113
P: GP-20 / G-10 / A-30 / P-40

CHL: GP-5 / G-5 / A-8 / P-13

Won President's and Memorial Cups in 2nd season. Drafted 1st overall by Colorado Avalanche. My fellow Moosehead MacKinnon was 3rd overall (going to the Blue Jackets), which was neat. Ended pre-season with 3 assists in 4 games and a -2 rating. Made the team, though. Actually very pleased with that; I remember in NHL 11 you had to get 8-10 points over the 4 games to earn a place on the senior roster. Now to start the NHL season...

Finished my sophomore season with the Tri-City Americans in WHL. Playing as a RW-PWF with some scoring touch and a lot of speed and power, I found great chemistry with LW Adam Hughesman and C Brendan Shinnimin. All three of us produced all year long, with me winning the scoring race at 96pts, Shinnimin winding up at 6th place with 87pts and Hughesman at 15th with a solid 80pts. Although we played well, we didn't have much of a defence. A lot of rookie mistakes put us out of playoff position, so no memorial cup for me, if i don't get sent back to the WHL next year of course.

Right winger, powerforward, 74OVR.

2011/2012
R: 72GP, 47G, 64A, 111PTS, 106PIM
P: 5GP, 1G, 4A, 5PTS, 5PIM

2012/2013
R: 72GP, 38G, 58A, 96PTS, 91PIM
P: -

Going into the draft my agent had anticipated me going in the late first round/early second. I hoped to be a first rounder of course, and hopefully going late so I didn't have to play for a worthless franchise my first years. I saw name after name go by, and Chicago had the last pick. I expected them to pick me, but no, of course not. Instead i'm going as the first pick in the 2nd round, to Coyotes, weho

Hoping I can make it in my first year, although i wouldn't be surprised if i'm going back to AHL/WHL next season.

Yeah it's honestly ruining the game mode I've about stoped playing...I like realistic plays/games but it is impossible to set up anything and although i score a lot by carrying to a good spot and just blowing by the goalies glove Its much better to set up a real offense and get rewarded for hitting soft spots in the defense (back door, cross crease, one timers) but the slow passing makes it not possible....am I missing some way to call for a hard pass because if not i guess it's time to start another be a gm....
