Faille (2g 1a; PP & PK) Parenteau, Cote & Rochon scored for us tonight, Ouellet added two helpers. Daley and Gervais scored for the Tigers.

It is only exhibition but its a different feeling team from last year and I can't remember the last time we won two road games in a weekend.

Ottawa 3, RMC 2 (OT). We had a 2-1 lead, then Ottawa scored on a 5 on 3 pp with 59 seconds left, then on a 4 on 3 pp to win it. I\ll have the game highlights up tomorrow or monday

Tommies lost to Acadia 6 - 2. No excuses coming from me, it's exhibition hockey but a loss is a loss. Rome wasn't built in a day and Troy Ryan isn't going from worst to first with the team he inherited this season. Mike Reich scored both goals for STU.

Neither of them are. Dulle stayed in Saskatchewan and will probably be with the U of S next year. Melanson.....don't know, don't care.

Honestly, while both are talented players I think STU will be better off without them.

UQTR vs. UNB

With UQTR coming down to Woodstock to play UNB on Thursday, I was wondering if anyone has any insight into how UQTR is looking this year? I see they are 2-1-0 so far this preseason; lots of new guys, same core group?

See "Dutch"'s comments, earlier on this thread I believe, I remember something about a lot of recruits this year, but pretty good quality I think. That would be on the CIS Recruits thread, sorry thought I was there...

OUA website tends to often update the goals and leave the shots to be updated later, so the shots if the score is 2-1 at the end of a period will be listed as 2-1 until further updates. It appears they updated shots for York only in the first period. Either that or the next 9 went in with both teams scoring on every shot for the next 2 periods. I wouldn't bet on that.

Laurier Closes Exhibition Season

Results thus far:
Laurier 0-6 Windsor
Laurier 3-4 Windsor (attended this one, shots were 47-28 for Windsor)
Laurier 1-4 UOIT
Laurier 6-4 Ryerson

Laurier picked up their first win of the preseason tonight. Recruits Tyler Stothers and Mitch Lebar had 3 points each, first year Joe Vanni had 2 goals and Mitch Good, the only 3rd year forward on the team had 2 goals as well. Laurier opens against Nipissing. Given that Nipissing beat Windsor and UOIT who Laurier lost to every time in 3 attempts, it will be a tough match for the Hawks.

Yeah it seems they only updated shots for York for the first period. The OUA preseason coverage has been not very complete. It is good during the regular season though. If they are correct, that also meant Windsor beat Laurier 6-0 scoring on all six shots and Laurier not registering a shot for the entire game. I also doubt that.

Unb 3 - Uqtr 2

V-Reds defeated les Patriotes 3-2 at the Carleton Civic Centre in Woodstock Thursday night. After the game UNB got back on their bus to head to Orono, Maine for the night while UQTR headed to Nova Scotia for their game Friday against Saint Mary's in Truro.

1st period a bit sloppy and UNB didn't look really sharp, but sharper than UQTR. Les Partiotes goalie Guillaume Nadeau earned his 2nd game star honours probably on the first period alone. UNB outshot UQTR 16-6.

Midway through the second period the Thomas Nesbitt show started to take over. He set up Nick MacNeil for UNB's first goal at 12:42.

Third period was good for UQTR, and the fans. 40 seconds in Maxime Gravel was the last man to touch the puck as a sea of white jerseys flooded the crease in front of Travis Fullerton. UNB got lead back at 7:30 when Luke Lyans fired a wrister through a screen. 9:55 Nesbitt scored to make it 3-1. Then at 10:48 UNB's Jonathan Harty nailed a UQTR player high coming across the slot. He got a five minute major and a game for the "Head Conduct". Can't argue with the call.

UQTR rookie Tommy Tremblay (great hockey name!) scored on the PP, but that was close as UQTR could get. 3-2 final with UNB outshooting UQTR 36-25 in the game.

I see Harty Played Obviously, how about Ben Wright? And the Biggest Question I have did Tyler Carroll play, or is his injury more serious of the concusion variety?

Ben Wright tells me he has a groin injury. Didn't say when he'd be back, but he's travelling with the team as is Josh Kidd (unknown injury) and Daine Todd (still rehabbing his shoulder).

Didn't see Carroll, who hasn't played since that blindside hit by Walker Wintoneak. One would have to assume concussion worries, but no word from UNB - and there seldom is when one of their players is dealing with post concussion symptoms.
