Kent Manderville - Remember Him?

Hey Everyone. I got to skate and pass the puck around with Kent Manderville 2 months ago at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees. From what i know he is in Sweden playing over there. Hopefully he will return to the NHL when he comes back.

Good to hear. I always liked him as a player. He did what was needed to be done and knew his place. I wouldn't have minded having him back.

Mandy was a big favorite of mine in his short stint in Pittsburgh.

The definition of a workhorse. Hopefully someone signs him.

sort of like in 'i love the 80s'...that trade was the ultimate 'what the f---' moment in flyers history, at least recent flyers history...an enforcer with a pending **** conviction for a really good defensive center who won pretty many faceoffs, that was in 2002, everything sort of ran upside down for the flyers that year.

2 seasons without a goal........In Manderville's case, work ethic could not cover up his lack of skill!

OK never mention Tibbets & that trade again! That's one case, where management heard the outcry from the fans, and got rid of that load!

Yea bad trade. Maderville is a solid faceoff man and penalty killler. I wonder why no one signed him in the past few years. Was he injury prone? I thought some team can use his abilities and leadership.

okay people. manderville is a nice guy, and a good defensive player... however.

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php3?pid=3363

0.16 ppg is abysmal... even for a guy known as a defensive player. he made the trade with pittsburgh to get manderville into a place where he could get some minutes, which wasn't going to happen here. it remains amazing that we actually accepted billy tibbets in return, but such is life.

After Manderville was traded to the Penguins I went to three games.

He scored 2 goals in those games :lol

One from behind the net ala Lemieux, it was hilarious.

Manderville was stil more valuable then Tibbitts. Tibbitts just plain sucked.
Mandervile did have a offensive void but was at least responsible defensivly and was a decent guy on faceoffs.

"void" is putting it mildly.

I would take Manderville back in a New York minute. The man was all heart. He would be a great replacement for the spunk we lost when Lapointe went to the NHL "rehab" program. He would also work great for Hitch. He could kill penalties on the 4th line and just take up minutes while the top 3 lines rest.

he doesn't dress for the team, even without zhamnov.

Roenick
Handzus

Sharp

w/out considering Richards and Carter.

He needs to play for a team like the Flames. They would love him and use him there. No room in Philly. He would be # 7 or 8 centre.

It's good that he is still playing, I was wondering where he had gone to.
