No King? 17 and 83 were the Caps best players last night. Very excited to "see" Orlov. Are the Caps holding Brouwer out for the whole preseason or will they let him work in late?

i almost think bourque and beagle are going to play all the preseason games. king i think i more set in his future.
brouwer is still recovering from shoulder surgery. is he even practicing yet?
btw...anyone hear that nash hit carter in the foot with a shot and there was fear it was broken....again. turns out not.
Brouwer is practicing and he hasn't been wearing a no contact jersey (Erskine has), but no surprise they want to protect Brouwer from game contact a little longer.
Typical of Caps to dress someone like Rechlicz for an early preseason game on the road. Not a fan of the practice, but so very typical. Of course, he actually scored a goal last preseason, lol.
Carrol works and works some more during practices, I'm not surprised to see him get a jersey for 1 preseason game.
Last night, more 'vets' at forward with the 'home' game; tonight more 'vets' on D with the road game.
oh nice if true. Though with that caps lineup I don't expect to see 'beautiful' hockey, heh.
oh c'mon! you have to watch the game simply to see mr. rechlicz skating!
Personally, I can't wait to see him tune someone up tonight! He's a heck of a fighter. My prediction - lots of penalty minutes tonight for both teams.
This lineup reminds me why I used to get pro-rated season's tickets in mid-October. What a racket, the pre-season.
i went to the caps first preseason when alzner and godfrey were in their first camp. it was at raleigh v the canes. every time the caps put alzner out there, carolina put staal, cole and stillman out there. it was very educational watching alzner getting bounced all over his own end trying to body up on eric staal.
there something to be learned from watching these games, but not about players that are established.
was hoping brouwer and vokoun would be in tonight, o well
also whats up with alzner-green and hamrlik-carlson
I wouldn't read into it, BB said that Carlson and Alzner will be back together by the time preseason is done. I think these pairings are just a result of the training camp groups.
boudreau sets up the training camp groups. alzner-green and hamrlik-carlson is very likely to give all four guys a base line to work without outside of their scheduled partners.
particularly alzner and carlson. they dont really need to practice to get to know each other.

In the grand scheme of ticket prices....the preseason games are a drop in the bucket. I go to one game if there are some prized prospects I want to see close up, otherwise, I give them away to promote the Caps to people who wouldn't normally attend.
