Hooooooly crap. I barely, hardly, narrowly won my first match-up against Bozak. Last night I was up by less than 6 points and he still had Bobby Ryan to play. Was a little nervous already since Ryan can have huge games.
Of course, I woke up in the middle of the night to Sportscenter still on the TV and the first thing I saw on the ticker was Ryan: 2G, 1A. Flipped the covers off and got on the computer. Bozak would've won if both Gagne and Williams on my team hadn't had stat corrections from the night before. Too close.
I apologize in advance if this is not the appropriate place to post this.
My friend and I have set up a four-team league -- click here to view league settings -- and would like to extend invitations to fill the last two teams. This is our first season playing fantasy hockey. If the league settings appeal to you, please send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will have my friend e-mail an invitation to you. It's on a first come, first served basis; the first two people to send me a PM will receive invitations.
The draft is at 11:45 PM EST. Hope to see you there!
Helsinki, Finland - Duck Pond Raptors have confirmed the signing of Pittsburgh forward Matt Cooke. Cooke, 33, will play on the team from Wednesday onwards. He is best known in NHL for his aggressive and gritty style, creating opportunities for his team but also causing controversy and strict penalties. He is known to some as "the cheap shot artist", but is also well respected as a hard-working, heavy-hitting winger - at least within his team.
Duck Pond Raptors GM Joonas Puhakka commented on the signing: "I know this may not be the most popular signing, but you don't win titles by being popular, do you? There is no more Mr. Nice Guy, and Matt Cooke is a player we need in order to be successful."
Yeah I saw it. At first I thought it was a terrible proposal, but after looking at it I thought it was probably good value wise. Just don't want to pull the trigger on losing Eriksson, as he's my only connection to the Dallas Powerhouse right now. Kovalchuk I couldn't really care less about. Could we work out a 1 for 1 trade?
Kovalchuk for Semin?
24.32 points vs 25.40
Kovalchuk would have more points, but he's been injured his last two or three games, which probably does hurt his value. Both can play LW and RW. Just my thoughts, I won't be offended if you say no
