He reminds me a little of Sauer the way he stands up for his teammates when needed; except he is bigger and undoubtedly a better fighter.

Was finally able to find out where Fasth is in scoring in the SEL:

Tied in 2nd with one other player with 14 points. 1st in assists.

Keep it up!

Really beat the snot out of that guy. It does bother me that the CHL guys don't seem to take their helmets off, even though they all have visors.

I've seen them take off helmets a few times, but remember that they are also kids... I'd prefer they keep their helmets on. Punch them if the face if they have too, don't go for anywhere around the head.

2G/2A in an 8-4 win. One of his goals was an EN goal.

Still great job, 14P in 12GP. No complaints on this end.

This.

We can't forget that some of these are 16-17 year olds. No reason for their helmets to be coming off and cracking their heads on the ice.

I don't think any CHL players are allowed to take their helmets off prior to squaring off like in the A.

I seem to remember that in the CHL (which includes the OHL, QMJHL and WHL) that if someone loses their lid the fight is to be automatically stopped by the officials no matter what.

not sure on the rules, but in the video posted, petrovic's helmet comes right off and the refs let mcilrath continue to pound away

Petrovic is a really tough kid, too.

I think the rule allows the helmet to come off during a fight but they can't intentionally drop them prior to a fight.

Damn, McIlrath dominated that fight and I'm pretty sure Petrovic is one of the tougher guys in the W. I love how he shakes his opponents with the hand he's grabbing them with. I wish the Moose Jaw commentator was calling that, that was awesome.

Sorry for the double post, but yeah I remember guys used to take each other's helmets off before the fight because technically they weren't taking it off themselves.

These videos are definately showing the toughness side that Mcilrath was drafted for, however It would be nice to see some video highlights showing some of his hockey skills also

Eh, good defense doesn't translate well into YouTube videos.

Yeah. Absolutely legal hit.

If one my guys gets trucked like that, I want someone to come in and give him some pause for thought next time. I've seen a lot of guys try and stick up for team mates only to get their heads handed to them.

MacIlrath is pretty good defensively, but still has a ways to go.

In terms of doing what he did after the hit he's top tier.

It's things like that which get me excited for McIlrath, not a bad player to have the backs of future Rangers about 3 years down the line.

Too bad if Torts is still here he'll get benched for taking the instigator
