Does anyone know whether or not JT Miller is in NHL 12?

JT Miller and Carl Hagelin are not in NHL 12 yet. I fully anticipate Miller to be in the next roster update as CHL players don't have to sign a waiver for them to be placed within the game and since rosters are final, theres no reason he shouldn't be.

As for Hagelin, he will be in the game when he signs the waiver which could taken an unknown amount of time.

Thats why we need to go all out in drafting high risk, high reward guys. How many tweeners do we need?

Staal, Del Zotto, Kreider, Miller are not and wont be tweeners.

Stepan, Anisimov, Dubinsky, Callahan, Sauer are not tweeners.

Girardi (undrafted) is not a tweener.

McDonagh (traded for) is not a tweener.

Erixon (traded for) us not a tweener.

McIlrath wont be a tweener.

Drafting one-dimensional, undersized players is not how to build a winning team.

The Rangers have been drafting and acquiring some multidimensional solid hockey players.

When you say that Miller, McIlrath, Kreider, etc won't be tweeners, how do you know that? What proof is there? If anything, especially for Miller, if you look at position where he was drafted, the odds of him being more than a tweener aren't good at all.

The issue is that with most of the players that will be available after #20, where we'll be drafting next year, they WILL be one-dimensional. Except when you say one-dimensional, you mean a scorer. If it's a big guy with limited offensive ability whose only dimension is his size, nobody says that he's one-dimensional.

It's easier to pretend that someone who lacks NHL-level skill has it than to pretend that someone who's 5-10 is really 6-2. Anyone getting drafted in the early rounds can dominate teenagers, most of whom are never drafted and won't play hockey beyond juniors and maybe - MAYBE - a low level league like France or the new IHL. It's easy to look skilled playing against them.

The truth is that we need scorers, not more grinders, not more tweeners, not even more second liners.

We need front line offensive talent. We need someone who can replace Gaborik's 40 goals. Drafting JT Miller types won't give us that. The fact is that multi-dimensional players who can score do not fall to #20 for no reason.

Drafting a guy who is small or badly injured, but has top-3 talent is very risky, but those guys may one day develop into 40 goal scorers.

If you cite a few examples of players who waaay over-achieved their expectations or WERE high-risk at the time of the draft, but you just choose to ignore it, then I will just put you on a permanent ignore list. I don't care about 2-3 exceptions. Exceptions prove nothing, absolutely nothing. Look at ALL the players drafted. For every "multi-dimensional" player who gets drafted at #20 to 30 who makes it as a point per game scorer, there are hundreds who do not. Meanwhile, guys like Marian Hossa may not make the NHL, but if they do, they become All Stars.

Statistically, looking at all past drafts, your odds of pulling a point per game scorer are much, MUCH higher if you go with someone who has top-3 talent, but is undersized (or injured), than if you go with someone who is great all around, but has nowhere near the talent of the top 3 guys in the draft.

By the way, the idea that you can build a team purely on one-dimensional scorers is wrong, but so is the idea that you can build a team without them.

Did you enjoy the last several years? Last year's team is precisely what happens when you have a lot of multi-dimensional players, but no pure scorers (Gaborik is one, but he just couldn't get it done last year).

Unless a team has multiple 70+ players, it will not succeed.

Not really

Also, from the official Plymouth Whalers twitter:

The Wilson-Miller-Heard line is just sick. Making things happen at the end of the period. Look for that line to get on the board tonight.

There are rare teams that go on Cinderella runs and make it to the Finals, but that too happens because suddenly they have lesser players get very hot in the playoffs. And its very rare. Statistically, the odds of an individual team going on a Cinderella run are maybe 5%.

But to be a top-end regular season team and a top end playoff team, you need at least a couple of real offensive players. Usually it's two forwards, though if you have a forward who scores 80 points and a defenseman who gets 50, that could work also.

Point is that if you can't score, you can't win... not against good teams, anyway.

Thomas is disappoint.

Seriously, he needs pick up his game.

Have him traded to Saginaw so he can play with Galchenyuk and Yakupov.

Hey! They are post Soviet-Russia!

YAkupov is far from lazy, same with Galchenyuk. The guys are maniacs when it comes to scoring.

In Russia, goalie scores on you.

Hence Nabokov being able to score a goal.

Thomas-Galchenyuk-Yakupov would be one nasty line.

That's why the Rangers are going to come in last on purpose and draft Yakupov

In Russia, shot, slaps you

Or we trade Kreider, McIlrath and 1st for 1st Overall.

I'd trade that for Yakupov. Hell, I'd trade Miller, McIlrath, Kreider and a 1st for the 1st Overall. I'd throw in more if needed. I want that beast.
