Cole-Cammalleri-Plekanec
Palushaj-Willsie-Kostitsyn
Blunden-Trotter-Engqvist
Schultz-Massé-Berger.

Apparently those are the lines.

Dear MAG, please don't be serious...

Gill-Tinordi
Diaz-Weber et Woywitka-Emelin

Obviously, it's way too early to second-guess line combinations, as it doesn't especially matter what the score is, but I'm not sure about the wisdom of pairing Hal Gill 1.0 with Hal Gill 2.0. (Okay, that might be harsh) I hope that I get to see Trotter with decent linemates at some point, too.

I don't know what I missed more... habs games on MiG's GDTs.

I'm going to watching this game at home tonight, boosting up my post count with this thread.

Good game everyone and thanks MiG!

I thought the same thing, but Allhabs.net just tweeted that Gill is going with Diaz, and Tinordi with Weber.

I jsut got up and copied MAG's thing. French isn't my first language, so being tired I may have took what he said wrong, I'm hoping so. It also doesn't make sense to have 2 right handed shots playing together when you don't need it.

Sounds like we are just going to be giving away two points here!! Seriously though I thnk they have reasons for their choices. It is preseason afterall.

No, last night was the only game where they did it.
Burke basically asked the R&D team to use a Toronto pre-season game as an experiment.

I personally liked it alot.. felt the shallow nets was great for the players going behind the net... also going to be great for more puck handling goalies.

I wouldn't mind running "backup plan" GDT's for week days when the scheduled person is unavailable. As you all know my GDT's aren't flashy or anything but at least they'll be there until said person can make it on or if they don't in general

Maybe I can get MIG to teach me

They test it in ONLY 1 game, in the whole League ?

They did the test in the camp for R&D. They'll do more testing another time.. again this is something we may not see for 2-3 years or more.

There is a rule about that, NHL team has to use a # of regulars in a pre season game, not sure about the # of players but there is a rule so you will see some regulars no doubt about it

Take into account, there are 7 regulars dressing for tonight's game (6 if you don't include Weber).

According to NHL rules, teams must dress at least eight players who meet the following criteria: (a.) appeared in 30 games during the 2010-11 campaign, including playoffs; (b.) appeared in 100 or more career games; (c.) drafted in the first round in 2011; and (d.) a goalie who dressed for 50 games, or played in 30, in 2010-11.

So… Cole, Plekanec, Cammalleri, Kostitsyn, Willsie, Weber, Gill, Woywitka and Price. That makes 9.
