I'm biased because I saw him play at Clarkson, but Boro looks solid, he'll make it on the roster eventually, hopefully for the whole season. How has Wiercioch been playing? I havent seen him yet, he looked promising in college.

He is not a bottom 6 player. Top 6 or bust.

disagree, he could eventually be a top 6er, but at this point, what I've seen from him in the AHL playoffs and so far in preseason is that of a versatile guy to have in your bottom 6. Lots of speed, can hit, soft hands.....imo looks very similar to Donovan, just with a higher offensive ceiling.

I guess Lehner is not cut, Sens just tweeted that he will play the whole game as Craig is out for maintenance issues.

I disagree. In part because I don't think the top 6, bottom 6 distinction is as rigid as people around he make it out to be. But also, I see no reason why he can't play a checking role. Most of the preseason that's where they had him.

If Ryan Shannon can play a bottom 6 role, anyone can

Ryan shannon can't play a bottom 6 role. that's why he's not here anymore.

Yeah he certainly doesn't shy away from contact, he's not afraid to throw his weight around at all. That's been the most surprising thing to me every time I watch him play.

Lehner, Gryba cut. No other surprises.

I'm not at all surprised that Gryba was cut. His ceiling is not high and Borowiecki is ahead of him on the depth chart. Gryba may hit hard, but his foot speed is a serious liability. Unless Gryba makes strides this year in all aspects of the game, I don't see him having a significant future on Ottawa's blue line. If he doesn't improve I see him as a 7th D fill in for injuries to the bottom pairing D down the road, but that's about it.

He's not here because he can't play top 6 role.

Really?

At this stage Gryba >> Wiercioch. Some times I wonder if fans in Ottawa are watching the same players...

It's quite clear that Anderson = Leclaire 2.0

Not anymore, Hoffman has made some adjustments to his game. This guy could play on anyone of your 3 scoring lines and he's fast and tenacious enough to do it on a thirdline.
