His name is actually Lacey - but Murray has problems with folks that laugh at speech impediments.

Out of curiosity.

What do you guys think of picking Zach Hamil off of waivers.

He's apparently having a good pre-season but was let go, simply because there is no room for him.

He's pretty decent....but we simply just don't have enough room for him as well, I can see a team like Phoenix or Minnesota picking him up.

At this point, honestly, any young, top 6 potential players that we can grab for cheap or for free, we should try and make room for. To me, this year is one big tryout. I don't know a lot about Hamill, though, to be honest, so I don't know if he is deserving of that space.

Ottawa should be all over forwards in their low 20s who are in this kind of situation, though.

Was Parrish on a tryout or is he going to Bingo?

We don't have room for Hamill. We're already struggling to fit everyone in. What are we going to do with another?

You find room for talent... it's not like we are contending for the cup this season and we have tons of cap space.

We can bring him in and let it work itself up when injuries hit and opportunities present themselves.

Pick up Hamill, send Zbad back to Sweden

Spezza
Da Costa
Smith
Hamill
Winchester
Konopka

For centers until Regin gets back.

Definitly grab Hamill.

You can never have enough competition especially for a rebuilding team in a need of centers unlike Boston.

Exactly. This is what I was trying to get at. We have room for anyone and everyone right now if there's a chance they improve this team. God forbid we try and improve this team because we have a bunch of guys that will top out as 3rd liners.

is this what people would be saying if we hadn't traded for Filatov and he was available on waivers right now?

Fuhr,

your boy Arturs Kulda is on waivers. I would have love to give this kid a shot, but we literally have no room for this kid.

Again, I hope Ottawa puts a claim in for Hamill though

I do like Kulda... think he can be a solid defensaive defenseman... we have no room though... defense is becoming a very deep position league wide... tough to crack... especially after the 2012 draft with that very deep pool of D-Men coming... lots of teams will be rocking amazing defenses soon.

Providence offensive system is abysmal.

Look at Joe Colborne as the perfect example...
Providence - 55GP 12G 26Pts
Toronto- 20GP 8G 16Pts

Providence leading point producer only had 50Pts... Hamil was 2nd on the team and played 10 games less.

i fully agree cause if regin did destroy that same shoulder again ( and that is in no way a fact at this time) he will be gone at least 40 games and if zbad should be sent back then that leaves only da costa. so ya hamill maybe nothing but a bust but i think ottawa should be looking to become the place of second chances.

I would be surprised if the Sens even have a chance at picking up Hamill, I have feeling one of the teams before us will claim him.
