Schultz penalty for being slow.

Haven't noticed Orlov much at all though only been watching the vid since the middle of the 2nd.

Haven't seen the game but it looks like Sjogren is a pretty damn reliable faceoff man from the stat sheet.

Yikes. All I've heard form MTL fans about Hammer is "manage his minutes, and you'll love him."

Exactly..... Not to mention the caution they used a few days ago when Hammer was feeling tight.

Kinda surprised Orlov didn't see more big minutes so as to better evaluate him

boudreau is making sure that wideman and hamrlik develop chemistry as a pair so that we have to watch another year of schultz and green.

Do the players get paid for games played in the preseason?

They get paid as soon as camp starts, right? So whether they get paid for preseason games depends on semantics (as they don't get paid by the game, they get paid by the day).

actually, i dont think they get paid til the regular season starts. they dont get paid for the playoffs. at what pay rate would a player on a two way contract get paid in camp?
salary cap is based on actual payroll also. a player without a contract doesnt get paid at all.
so i'd have to say they are not getting paid til the games count.

But from reading coverage of the Doughty situation, it sounds like their paid time starts as soon as they're required to report to camp. I also don't understand how that works wrt 2-way contracts and whatnot but I thought they did start getting paid already. Maybe not though...

Travel expenses, lodging and meal per diems for training camp are all detailed in the CBA and that's how a player gets 'paid' during the preseason.

As far as one way/two way contracts, my understanding was that training camp isn't when they start getting paid, but after regular season starts in terms of how things are paid out and the timing.

The CBA spells out how a player injured during camp gets paid until they are cleared based on their pro history from prior season...including factoring in NHL and AHL pay rates for some players.

There is also a specific clause in the CBA which allows a team to deduct pay for a player who doesn't report on time to camp. 1/275th of his paragraph 1 salary...(obviously, Doughty doesn't have a contract so it's a bit different in that situation.)
