@GMScottHowson: Mark Dekanich strained *his groin in warm up in Springfield tonight and will not play. Will know more on severity of the injury tomorrow.

This isn't a curse, it would be what I call bad planning by our GM. No depth at goalie, none whatsoever

This probably helps us retain the #1 pick in the offseason, I applaud his groin.

Actually we did have some depth. They just all suck. And have gotten injured.

Heard he was told that after this game he'd be brought up to play in front of CBJ's defense so he faked another injury.

Aaaaand that was the best I could do.

Unfortunately, these injuries may be letting us know "what we have with this guy." Pazzy 2.0?

Who wants to bet me Howson keeps him around and makes him the starter if he does half decent when he finally gets a shot? Please Howson, trade/waive/release/ Mason and get us a goalie.

Actually I am talking about drafting and developing good goalie prospects, much like Nashville does

Holy crap. I've seriously been waiting to see this guy play, and I would bet some serious paycheck that he's at least a average NHL goalie. Dude has been playing too much modern warfare. Stretching is good Dex.

A possible case of overcompensating elsewhere due to the bum ankle?

Drafting has improved since the days of Shane Bendera. Allen York went from "who?" when drafted to being one of the top NCAA goalies. Mathieu Corbeil has the lowest GAA in the Q. Anton Forsberg's doing decently as an 18 year old in the SEL.

The problem is how the Jackets are going to develop these prospects into legit NHL goaltenders.

I've done it, but it wasn't an ankle I was overcompensating for.

Springfield won tonight 4-1.

Falcon's goalie Danny Taylor now has a 2.12 GAA, 93.3% save percentage and is the 9th lowest GAA in the AHL (#7 highest save percentage). He's signed to an AHL only deal.
