It's not REALLY about the music. It's about being passionate for Hockey... I don't care what band is playing. I'll be ready for NHL Face Off in Winnipeg.
If you guys don't want the Nickleback, I know some modern chamber jazz sextets that would be pleased to play. They work cheap. Tell the fest producer to get in touch.
It has become SOOOOOO trendy to hate Nickleback? I have never owned their stuff, downloaded anything, or seen them in concert. I take them for what they are (and have always been) which is a pop-rock band out there selling and trying to make a living. not sure what the fuss is about but I guess if I want to be hanging with the cool kids I should get on board and ditch my historical indifference for them and "get my hate on"

It's not because it's "trend", it's because they ****ing suck **** hardcore
Seriously, if you choose not to go to a once-in-a-lifetime event because there is a band you don't like, that's just **** up.
Suck it up, go and have a blast - the NHL is back in Winnipeg, and you're going to sit at home and sulk because Nickelback is playing?
I hope they start off their set with "Too bad", dedicated to you-know-who's.
Congrats Winnipeg - you're showing more and more how deserving you guys are of having the NHL back. I plan following you guys as much as I can.
Sitting around with your grandkids and taking of the day the Jets went to town and there were parties in the street.
Then one of your grandkids asks "did you go to the party at the forks too?!"
and you reply "No I didn't you see there was a band playing I didn't like, I know you have never heard of them in the last 50 years but I really did hate them."

Somehow I don't think that's what we'll be talking about in 50 years. If we are, we're in real serious trouble.

agreed and trust me the last thing i will be doing is sitting at home sulking....instead of being at the forks ill be out and about getting excited for the biggest game in this cities history!!!

possibly all the above AugustBurnsRed......I know some guys legitimately hate them and that is cool, to each their own, but to me there is more at play....three years ago I didn't hear much about people hating Nickelback and all of a sudden even a D- bag loser like Michael Landsberg is jumping on the band wagon and is trashing them? I could care less one way or the other but it seems to me like there are the "legit haters" and allot of guys who know it’s cool to say they are haters.....I will put you in the first category as your distain is palatable…….I will continue with my indifference and save my hate for Celine Dion
I won't be attending and Nickleback is a huge reason as to why. I [/B]Don't want to dumb down my though process [/B]by listening to them.

Must be the pictures and just the talk of it, lol.
Back on topic, guys. Discussion about posters grammar etc. is not germaine to the discussion.
We also get that some people hate Nickelback, and we've made our points there as well. As long as this thread can actually get back to discussing the topic at hand, it will remain open.
Nickelback completely sours the event. I have been an obsessed Jets fan for my entire life but I am also a music fan and what Nickelback represents in my mind is everything that is wrong with music. I get it if people dont care about that sort of thing, thats fine. Have a great time. This is what a Nickelback thrives on. Wishy Washy- download the single only- music fans... b'ah.
Whats worse is that Nickleback is a washed up Top 40 band. Pretty sad indeed. However I cant expect too much... got to keep it PG right?
This is for the families, i will spare myself this evening and support them at MTS Centre and through Jets TV....
yeah your right people never talk about old sports memories at all
I think you missed my point. I'd be more worried about a poor economy, food/water shortages, nuclear war, natural disaster, etc happening before I worry about a hockey memory from 50 years into the future. All I was saying is that if I'm around in 50 years I should be happy as is and worrying about telling my grandchildren stories about the "Forks" is the last thing on my mind. Hockey is a game, all the things that can possibly happen to society between now and then isn't a game IMO.
