Exactly. Kind of pathetic how everyone are sheep and just follow what is cool to do. How can you hate a band. Sure there is music I don't like, but I won't go out of my way at an event to avoid it. Anyone that is avoiding the event because they hate Nickelback so much, is just trying to fit in with the Nickelback hate meme.

Save the "I hated them before everyone else hated them", no you didn't.

Can I get in on the hate?! or is it too late lol. I dont hate Nickelback but.......... I do not enjoy their music. I will be going and I just plan on having enough drinks that Nickelback is tuned out and just background noise during the celebration!

The one thing that REALLY sucks about this thread is: we get back in the NHL, the league chooses to have the big season kickoff right here, at the Forks. There is going to be tons of great stuff to do and our city will be on the North American stage, and a few haters of a certain band are complaining and derailing the entire thread.

Why don't we get back to the other stuff that will be going on on the 6th, and how incredible that day will be instead of using a thread to voice irrational hate.

What sucks is that NIckelback will probably get booed or something stupid, and embarrassing Winnipeg on National TV.

It's fair to say the Nickelback discussion has run it's course. Perhaps discuss the other aspects of the great event from here on out.

Beer gardens. Hockey Night in Canada season opener on the giant screens. Fan interactive hockey games/contests. Live introduction of the Winnipeg Jets. Among others.

I'd be stoked if there was a petting zoo. I love animals.

I think I'm most excited to take in a hockey game with thousands of others.

Bingo. It was getting personal and a little far too off-topic. If anyone has any issues or problems regarding this, send us a PM or file a complaint at complaints@hfboards.com.

Carry on.

What's interesting about Nickleback is that IIRC they were popular in Winnipeg before they really hit it big.

So I guess this is just karma.

Seriously though, this is really cool that the NHL is realizing all the Winnipeg momentum going on right now... hope the weather plays nice.

you may haver noticed this is a sports related thread

I also give you permission to talk and worry about many topics

the world was a lot worse for my grandfather but I still enjoyed the story about when he saw Lou Gehrig play

Bachman and Turner, three days grace and Inward Eye confirmed by NHL.com. Now the Nickelback babies can stop crying

Now I wish it was Nickelback!

This raises the question of if Bachman or Cummings ever dies, will Winnipeg be able to book a Free public concert again?

Bachman Turner just played for money at the arena last weekend...
now they are doing a freebee concert at the forks two weeks later?
why does this not make sense.

Inward Eye, awesome stuff. I remember watching those guys at a U of M beer bash many moons ago, they're great live performers with some catchy tunes.
