gulp. Well at least we have lots of bottom-6 centres, amirite??
I'm not overly concerned about Tim yet. With such a short contract, his position and ice time being handed to him on a golden platter along with competent linemates after a well needed change in scenery, this is the ideal chance to prove himself. If he doesn't, his stock will plumet considerably after his contract expires. I don't see the lack of motivation being much of an issue for him, it's more about getting used to his linemates' speed and tendencies (aka chemistry), which may take a bit of time.

Not only do we have a lot of bottom-6 centres, but we have a lot of bottom-9 centres.

His passes have been much improved as well. He's utilizing his partner well most of the time, and most of his first passes out of the zone have a clearly intended target unlike last season's "OMG, I have to get this puck out NOW before Lebda touches it".

As do I. If someone goes down to injury and a long term spot is needed to be filled, I'd want Rosehill to take it over Orr.

Looks like to me:

Lupul Connolly Kessel
Mac Grabo Kuli
Kadri Bozak Frattin
Crabb Boyce Orr/Rosehill

Phaneuf Aulie
Schenn Liles
Gardiner Komi Gunnar

Reimer
Scrivens

Bound to be some scratches.

Two playmakers and a shooter.

This would be an interesting line to see develop.

Looks like both teams are dressing an NHL line-up.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

They had that great game against the Habs last year so I can only assume that Wilson will stick them together again. I agree though, Bozie speed, Kadri's vision and Frattin's ability to finish could be fantastic.

I'd prefer:

Phaneuf - Aulie
Schenn - Gunnarsson
Komi - Liles / Gardiner

Schenn's footspeed and Liles propensity to pinch is a scary combination.

Isolate Liles 5v5, and give him 1st. mintes on PP.

this third line f Kadri-Bozak-Frattin excites and intrigues me. Lots of skill in Kadri, good two-way ability in Bozak, and a serious finisher in Frattin should excel.

Just a heads up, there is a pre-game thread already being used, right below this one.

We're running a good lineup though.

Dressing a line up that is going to look close to what we'll have for the opener. Except Schenn and Army aren't in there.

nice, we're getting right down to it and playing the regulars as promised. i hope this game lights a fire under connolly's ass and we tear it up against the sabres.

one of the biggest keys to success this season will be how well we do against teams like buffallo and boston, who've had our number the last few years. even though it's preseason i think tonight it's important to get off to a good start and continue the success we had against them the last half of last season.
