Pretty much this. I said 1-2 weeks to my friend if nothing major was cut inside the leg. It takes time to coagulate and heal.

Gotta admit, it IS a bit funny, considering our luck lately. Dude scores our first goal of the season on a beauty of a snipe, then gets cut by a skate. We must be building up some awesome injury Karma somewhere.

Or they're still paying off their incredibly injury-free season of 07-08.

This is true. It does not have to be completely healed, but two weeks should allow the cut to be pretty much closed. But when you have a deep wound, that required stitches internally, these need to heal and be taken out before any thing even close to playing hockey can be done. Especially when its in a place where there is a lot of tension. Right above the knee is a tough spot because when you bend your knee, that muscle and the skin extends, which will surely separate the wound.

When I had 70 or whatever many stitches in my arm, I was put in a brace to not let my arm stretch out because it would have ripped the stitches. After they took the stitches out, they took the brace away as well.

Since no defenseman was called up, we should take that Spacek is good to go thursday. The defence has looked good so far.

Hopefully by the time the playoffs roll along, this karma will kick in.

All these injuries are a product of teams not being afraid to answer the bell. Its getting annoying.

If the Habs had a tough guy he would assuredly have punched Weber's face to smithereens in order to prevent him from cutting Cammalleri. As for Spacek, its a well known fact that players from teams with tall and mean looking goons never get hit.

I missed this place

this reminds me so much of Phaneuf last year. Expect him to be a while longer imo and for him to get his legs back too. not to be a debby downer

Spacek Update!

After finding out this summer Spacek injured himself practicing this move hundreds of times for the upcoming season:

Word is rags are taking him for future considerations

One injury was a skate from his own player, the other was getting a clean hit (which didn't even look to bad) near the benches and the top of the boards looks to be what done the damage. I don't understand.

If the Habs had any heart they would have smashed Weber's face into the boards in retaliation at least. What a bunch of sissies...

Honestly though, have any of the team's current injuries come from a dirty play? No "enforcer" or more team toughness or whatever people are complaining about would have changed anything.

I think he did it on purpose. There was a joke in a movie (can't for the life of me remember which one) of the resemblance between the two.

edit: It may even be off Family Guy, now that I think of it a little.
