It would (will!) be great to have Markov back, but even when that happens, we'll have a remarkably iffy collection of D. With Campoli out, Gill is the ONLY guy on our roster, including the depth chart, who played 60 games in the NHL last year. And they're tiny, too!
Yeah it's not very encouraging. Hopefully Diaz and Emelin continue to improve and Spacek stays healthy this year when he comes back. As much as he gets the short end of the stick around these boards we're gonna need him.

FWIW, I have heard that Andrei Markov may be back for(or around) game 10. #Habs
VERY good news.
I don't see that happening. I'm guessing here but he's going to need at least 2 or 3 weeks of skating with the team just to get into game shape/ and get his timing back. Think how long its been since he's even been in a practice. To be back by around game 10 would mean he'll be skating with the team and going full out starting probably Monday. It's possible but I doubt it.
I thought Campoli would miss 3 weeks...then a month, where are you hearing two months? He has a hamstring tear...can't be that long. Andre Johnson of the Texans is on my Fantasy team and he is only going to miss 3-4 weeks with a similar injury.
Put andre johnson side by side with campoli and then decide whose hamstring would recover quicker

to be honest if this is true thats awesome, but last thing I'm sure we would want is him to rush back into things, I'm sure they would take the proper steps given what happened last time,
i like to live a life of ignorance and pretend like markov isn't on the team, so when he comes back it'll be way more exciting

JM always waits extra long. everytime a guy has gone out with a small injury and is 'day to day' it always, ALWAYS ends up being 3-4 weeks. i just add 50-100% on top of what we are told because i've seen too many players who 'will be ready for next wednesday's game' and they're not even practicing with the team again by the time that game comes around. they pure ******** us everytime, which is their perogative and in their rights to protect whatever interests they have.
i give markvov mid november if everything is truthfully going smoothly. and mid december/after the break by the times he's any good. the general's armor has to be rusty as ****.

Not neg, just reality, no NHL d squad is ever all healthy at the same time. There is always at least one injury, and there are nagging injuries.
The good thing about Diaz and Emelin getting experience now is that they will be able to contribute when our older guys need rest from nagging injuries in Feb and March. We have not had that luxury for years and it has cost us in the PO...
I could see Gill and Spacek being rested frequently in Feb and March, if the younger guys keep it up.

2nd FLA meeting Monday with Andrews for a healthy Markov knee is dubious. What do you need to see Monday that wasn't good Friday?

I don't like this sort of speculation. It could be that tests aren't back until Monday and they want to make sure nothing unexpected shows up.
Maybe we should tank and go for a good draft pick. Give markov extra time to come back strong. Trade overpaid deadwood like gomez etc. Than start the rebuild with some great prospects.
can't we trade gomez please. i'm already tired of him making excuses. for what he get paid, he should be able to play even with one good leg.

As long as Price is healthy, this team won't be able to tank. Worst would be like 9/10 overall.
