Boudreau is so predictable.

For some reason the live radio does not work at all on my laptop, regardless of browser. Works through my phone though.

Is audio quality so-so for everyone else, or is that a quirk on my end as well?

There are no video feeds.

Good to see them allowing the stretch pass again. Also good to see the Caps convert on the power play. Sounds like Vokoun's been good as well.

I think that's something we'll hear quite a bit of this year. Ward from Ovechkin.

They're giving the goal to Ovechkin, it sounds like.

Ward isn't a top 6 player but it's nice to see Ovechkin with jump and the new guys showing up on the scoresheet.

Ah nope, they changed it back to Ward on the deflection. Sounds like a bad penalty by Vokoun.

That depends on how long it takes the PP to work out the kinks. Ward is a very nice change up that could pay big dividends when it does falter.

Two points in the preseason, hope he didn't use 'em all up...

I really like Ward's habits. I think he has better offensive hockey sense and habits than Laich and, while not a tremendously skilled player, could make for a very solid complimentary presence ala Knuble. He's not as good of a finisher as Knuble but just a very honest, hard-working player. If he can find a higher level of consistency with the Caps, I could see him having a vaguely similar career path as Knuble as something of a late bloomer.

I wish comcast would show the preseason games, and am kind of surprised they aren't. You'd think comcast would show the games, since they bothered to show the Hershey playoff games, they'd show the preseason as well, obviously people want to see it.

Caps have no preseason coverage at all, it sucks.

"Scramble in the crease and Vokoun calmly on top of it" - sounds good to me!

So down one goal late => Hamrlik-Wideman maybe?

Experienced guys, both can do what's needed.

I'm a Ward fan, but fans should check out his career #s before comparing him in any way to Knuble.

20 goals tops and that's if he rides on Ovy's line.

He should be a very, very solid roleplayer for them.

but he was on the predators. they've had maybe one player crack 60 pts in the last three seasons.

not saying he will, but if ward put up 50 in washington, i wouldn't be surprised.

actually, on the subject, NHLnetwork showed the entire ducks/preds series a month ago. as far as i could tell, ward lost like one boards battle the first three games that i watched and it was to getzlaf, so there's not much shame in that.

He actually already said in one of his Caps interviews that he wasn't going to put up 50.

Seriously though, I would be shocked if he put up 50 points, even if he does see power play time. I see him more along the lines of a guy who can help a third line keep possession in the offensive zone. That's all I really need to see from him. If he puts up anywhere near 15/20 g/a, bonus.
