absolutely. Experience goes a long way in this league.

Green and Sarge are somewhat opposites. When the going gets tough, they get split up. We just need an LD that can play on the PP; being up a goal, we can work through. PP and PK pair. We have lacked that offensive / two way LD long before we thought Poti would fill that role. Who knew he was defensive before he came here.

Predicting 3 years from now an ALL situations pair, maybe I choose Alzner Carlson > Sarge Green

For those paying attention to faceoffs (I am), Sjogren 5-for-8, Eakin 2-for-2, Hanson 0-for-1

That better not be a Johansson concussion.

Yeah, I don't completely buy the explanation:

kcarrera
Bruce Boudreau said Marcus Johansson caught a cold and was feeling dizzy out on the ice, so they shut him down as a precaution.

Look around 0:40

That's possibly hit to the head or close to that (MJ).

The audio feed from the Caps website was crystal clear for me, but I was barely listening to it as I was trying to find a live streaming video for the game.

No big deal. Potulny, King, Aucoin, Hanson, Richmond, Collins, and Ford playing. I'll get concerned when the regular season roster starts losing. Right now it's about seeing who has NHL level skills and trying different line combos.

Of course the wins and losses mean nothing in the preseason. But a whole preseason averaging < 2 goals a game might worry me a little bit, even with a less than full lineup.

Not when they played an entire game with Perreault and Chimera as the top line, and one game on the worst ice in the universe (against one of the best defenses and goaltenders in the NHL to boot).

Speaking of which, has anyone stood out? I've seen Hanson play here in Toronto. Has pretty good size and speed.

How's he looked?

It would be nice to be able to see some of these preseason games. It sure beats watching the Orioles or Nats play out the string. TV contracts should have "outs" for when a team has no chance and no one is watching.
