Basically, what I am asking is when are we going to see a Swedish player with a noticeable immigrant background (Finns don't count ) make a real impact on the hockey world?
The only current players I can think of are Dragan Umicevic and Yared Hagos, who certainly are solid SEL players, but can't really be said to have made much of an impact.
I guess people could say Johnny Oduya, but I'm not sure you could really count him since he has a Swedish mother. He's more like the Martin Dahlin of hockey.
Any young prospects coming through that might turn into something?
An immigrant background is not enough, he must also have a huge ego and be a borderline psycho.
I don't think it will happen anytime soon, but one can always dream though
Imagine Zlatan as the Swedish no 1 center. That would be something else. Huge, tough, extremely technical and with a nose for the net
But what is his playoff stats? And what has he ever won in his career? Pfft, winning in countries like Holland, Spain and Italy doesn't count. Do they even have hockey there?
I doubt u will see an arab playing hockey in sweden anytime soon, unless hes been adopted by a family in north sweden. But if we do i sure hope hes nothing like zlatan, cuz sweden sure dont need another "riksmongo"
I know when we'll see the Michael Schumacher of hockey.
His son plays hockey, doesn't he?

I'm sure they watch TV, just like everyone else.

Speaking of what footballers might be like if they played hockey, I've been wondering what someone like Drogba might have been like as a hockey player.

Zlatan is not an arab. he's from Bosnia, i.e. slavic. Umicevic too as I know.

So what? I mean canadian born players are the most in NHL and only two or three players are foreigner, the only one i can think is Ramzi Abid, Nazem Kadri. Wasn't Josef Boumedienne from arabic descent?

Reason: no politics
There are lots of good players with immigrant heritage but most of them are mixes.
Oduya bros have kenian father and swedish mother,
Zibanejad has finnish mother,
Boumedienne has finnish mother aswell,
VCR has not swedish name, but is a probably mix too
Owuya bros are half ugandian half russian.
De La Rose bros have spanish name
Jeremy Boyce is half black
Now Edwin Hedberg is 100% black, but probably adopted.
Rahimi is 100% iranian but he's not a star,
same for blacks Hagos and C.Gustafsson
I liked the comment "nose for the net" someone wrote for Zlatan But I really don't like the character himself. He is arrogant idiot who thinks he is bigger than his team.

most of you should know where the politics board is.
Where is this mythical oasis? How do you get there? I once stumbled upon it never to find my way back again. I was starting to wonder whether I dreamt the whole thing.

page 2 -> lounge
and then there's a sticky called "for ALL Political talk/debate (link)"
i don't want to directly link, because the mythical oasis would get too much tourism and you know how that ruins everything.
Jeremey Boyce looks really good stats wise and by looking at his young age but I don't know any of his skills and havn't really heard alot about him skill wise, someone describe him as a prospect?
