Well since we don't even know if there will be a season this year, that and the fact that we won't know if we will be able to sign our other high priced players depending on what the outcome is of the CBA. But Jeff Carter would be the one most likely to play even if we sign some of the other players. Then Richards and Voce last.

Voce will have to work to make a deep Phantoms squad.

Voce isn't even in the same league as Carter or Richards. He's going to be a Phantom this year for sure. Carter will definitely be the first to get a look in the NHL, then Richards.

may or may not make the phantoms depending on which prospects sign and show up for the AHL squad... he's got a tough go of it, i'm pulling for a Philadelphian to make it eventually as a Flyer though, that would be pretty cool.

well the word is that Richards is the more all-around player, so i think it is more likely that he is going to be a good NHL player in one role or another as well. pure scoring talent is much more of a crap-shoot, so one would think that Carter is more of a question mark as to whether he will pan-out.

if Carter comes out as advertised, then i think he will make a bigger splash simply because the score sheet is where you need to be at the end of the day as a team to win games, and you know he'll play defense if he makes it under Hitch.

Hitch said Monday, that both Carter & Richards would be given every opportunity to make the club.
The only way I se them not making it, is if there is a lockout, than they are back to their junior teams.

Tony Voce is an interesting player to me. The fact that he was the leading scorer in the country is impressive, whether if it was in college or not. He could find a touch in camp and heck, maybe end up with the flyers at some point, or he couldn't...interesting to watch because we didn't give up anything to obtain him. Ditto RJ Umberger, but he is a bit more high profile

Tony Voce is interesting... I think he's going to have a tough time making the team this year especially. Size is going to be a factor simply because he's going to need to prove that he can score at this level(tough for everyone), and play against the bigger bodies in his own end. However, just looking at our roster and the prospect talent pool that he is swimming in, it is going to be tough to break the roster unless we get hit with a rash of injuries, or until some of the roster clears out over the next couple of years for him...

as said, i'm pulling for him.

Carter has really stood out to me watching some of the Canadian World Junior scrimmages. I think he might be NHL ready at this point.

Who ever makes the transition to wing easiest. They arent going to play either on the fourth line 6 minutes a night, and with Primeau, Roenick and Handzus at center, the only way they will see the minutes they need to develop will be at wing.

I'm doubting any of them. I think there will be a lockout.

Carter and Richards are exciting players with bright futures.
