Tor-Phoenix Proposal

This one seems like a fair trade, but I do have my blue leafs glasses on

To Toronto:

Brad Ference
Mike Rupp
4th round pick

To Phoenix:

Alexei Ponikorovsky
Aki Berg
2nd/3rd round pick

Putting value aside, it doesn't make address Leaf needs. For a forward, the Leafs need a finisher, someone to put the puck in the net, not another Kilger. The Leafs also don't need to swap one #5/6 d-man for another younger Marchment.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Coyotes to trade Rupp already after just acquiring, barely even seeing him in action. I don't really see the point of the proposal unless it's purely fantasy purposes, which it would be in the wrong thread.

I'm a big rupp fan. He's not a Kilger type. I picture him being a nice power forward, plus he's a lefty too.

No thanks. Ference's contract is terrible and it's not like he's that much better than Aki. Poni is better than Rupp and the 2nd/3rd is better than the 4th.

kilger is one of those guys, that does only the bare minumum. He didnt do anything in during the season, but then in the playoffs he actually played well scoring a few goals.

Kilger and Domi had some damn nice chemistry going together the way those two forechecked was nice to see.

as for this Proposal, why? why would both teams do this I don't see a reason?

I'd love to try and pry Doan or Nagy out of the Desert but the Yotes won't move them, most certinly not for something Toronto would offer.

Toronto is in a tight grove right now, our Prospect pool is shallow, and our vets are aging, we can't trade our youngsters or our picks this year and your not going to find many teams offering up for guys like Berg.

the only way I see Toronto making a trade is if someone like Nolan is delt and/or lower round picks for Role players.

Rupp is like the same age as Poni, plus we'd be getting a draft pick back also.

I wouldn't trade Ference for Berg
I wouldn't trade Rupp for Ponikorovsky
I would trade 4th round pick for 2nd/3rd round pick but not if it would cost me the above mentioned

I wasn't accusing you of being a Habs fan (but don't make it sound like being a Sens fan is any better! ), i was just pointing out how Kilger when he was a Hab had an extremely high value (one might say severely overrated) and now that he is a Leaf, his value is lower than an old bag of bones (no offence to your grandmother)

4 words for you:

Fish on the Sand, although I think at the time it was two words: Old Glory.
